Re: Politics & Current Events

https://twitter.com/Taniel/status/1268014465016004611 not even racist enough for Iowa To be fair, I don't think that was it at all. Steve King had been neutered by the GOP. His open racism was too much for a party that pretends to hide it. So the GOP removed him from all his important committee ass...

https://twitter.com/amakaanku/status/1267817373618192385?s=21 Not gonna lie, did not expect a resurfaced video of Joe Biden in the 80's to wind up being a positive. Yeah, I just assumed it was gonna be horsefeathers and didn't watch it until I saw some of the posts about it. He had some righteous a...

Re: Politics & Current Events

I just don’t know who else I could put enough trust in to actually feel good about moving forward. He wasn’t perfect, but I def don’t fear him It honestly doesn't matter all that much. Sure, Biden is old as balls and anything could happen. But discounting idiotic 1800s deaths due to standing outsid...

In my wildest dreams, the name that would blow my mind would be Barack Obama for vp Could he do that and save the horsefeathering country already? Zero chance. The twelfth amendment explicitly states that "no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to th...

Six month old here, but he's taking oxygen at night, pre-cautionary, because his windpipe is growing in a little tight. All the growth and everything has been fine, kid's a champ, but reading about all the ventilator shortages and people not catching their breath for two weeks freaked us the horsef...

Re: Covid rants

I am so over my mother-in-law. We've got a one month old daughter born during the middle of this. Babies don't have an immune system for six months or so. Understandably, we've been keeping her locked down during a global pandemic. Nobody in or out. But with things improving in Illinois, my wife and...

If you PC game at all, Epic gives away free games each week...but right now they're giving away some really good stuff. GTA V was free last week. This week it's Civ VI. Civ 6 is pretty good on its own. But the expansions add a lot of important mechanics. Golden/Dark Ages, City Loyalty, Governors, W...

I recently rewatched 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street. They’re just such fun movies. I really wish they’d been able to do that Jump Street and Men In Black crossover they talked about.

I have become addicted to Stardew Valley. It’s just so damn pleasant. I just hit year 3 and am swimming in cash. Plenty of iridium and other high-end crafting stuff too. So I’m interested to see what the endgame looks like and if any of these money-sinks are worth it. If not, I’ll probably start ove...

^ I thought Sonic was good too and Carrey was great. The only thing that would take me out was the terrible writing for the sister in-law. Why would she randomly hate the sheriff husband who supported her sister through vet school?!?!?!?!?! The actress crushes on Insecure on HBO too so just felt li...

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel

On the recent kids movie front... Scoob! (2.5/5) They're trying way too hard to cram in a bunch of Hanna-Barbera characters, like they want to cash in on their own cinematic universe. But this just was Scooby Doo and a bunch of D-list characters like Blue Falcon, Dynomutt, and Captain Caveman. There...

Re: Serenity Now

King of Queens basically set the bar for "it's okay to have on in the background." And that's 100% because Jerry Stiller was absolutely fantastic. If he weren't in the show, it would be like watching whatever crap George Lopez puts out. Which is kinda silly considering the rest of the cast...

I finally installed the new GOG Galaxy 2.0 client. It's really nice in that it easily merges all your games from other clients into a single list. So now I've got all my stuff from Steam, Battle.Net, Epic Games Store, Origin, Xbox, Playstation Network, Uplay, Humble Bundle, etc... in a single master...

XCOM: Chimera Squad is a blast. I was a bit worried when they announced it a week before it was supposed to come out, and with a much lower price tag than the mainline series. But I get why they did it. They're trying out some interesting mechanical stuff with alien squadmembers, interleaved turns, ...

Holy smokes, so the actual fatality rate of this thing is either .14% at most and below .1% at the least. Santa Clara County has 1700 confirmed cases and 66 deaths. The antibodies tests revealed that between 48k and 81k had it by early April https://twitter.com/lisamarieboothe/status/12511751436546...
