Re: Technology Chit-Chat

One more thing I just remembered as well, if you do make the switch, be prepared for text message issues. I had group texts that got all messed up and I don't remember the precise issue, but it basically boiled down to the iCloud still trying to recognize my phone number as being iOS, but since it ...

Re: Justice Ginsburg has died

I don't wanna be that guy , but any chance we can merge this into the Politics thread? I loved RBG and am incredibly worried about the future of our country. I didn't sleep at all last night. And when I come onto NSBB to distract myself, it is really stressful to look in Active Topics and be reminde...

Honestly? Meh. Sure, they were a massive part of my childhood. But what have they done in the last 20 years? Metal Gear, some pretty mediocre Silent Hill games, and Dance Dance Revolution. It’s time for them to sell their IPs to people who can use them. myself personally, i miss the suikoden series...

Re: Video Game Thread

I've been playing through Metal Gear Solid 5 again. From a gameplay perspective, I still think it's the best sandbox I've ever been in. Want to go in guns-blazing? Go ahead and start the mission in a tank and have a small metal gear walker follow you along. Wear your heavy armor, equip your infinite...

Re: Video Game Thread

How long do you guys think the PS4 will be a viable console now that PS5 is imminent? Spending $400 is not viable for me right now but I'd hate to know I don't have access to the best games currently out there. I know there are still several PS4 releases that I'm interested in but if I remember bac...

Re: The Politics Thread

I don't really get the premise of the 538 piece. Why are Dems ignoring these voters? 1. There's no unifying message to all nonreligious(which include satheists, agnostics and nothing in particular) 2. Republicans catering to the evangelicals does the work for the Dems for those that are anti-religi...

Hearing some things about the officer involved in the Kenosha shooting. Don't want to start anything unsubstantiated, but let's just say no one will be surprised. Just to let you know, before I hit "submit", I checked my post for grammar and spelling and realized I should add "Kenosh...

I'm convinced my wife doesn't know how to work a garage door remote. Since the day we've moved into this house, ours has been giving her fits. Every six months or so, she'll tell me that it hasn't been working correctly for the last few weeks. Mine never has any issues. I'll swap my remote with hers...

I've been watching a ton of speedruns on YouTube of old NES games. Makes me feel like I actually sucked at these games all along. Like for instance, in Zelda 1, I rarely used bombs as a weapon. I'd be fighting Darknuts by sneaking up behind them (or from the side) and getting a couple stabs in befo...

The GOP platform is to hate on brown people, cut taxes for the super wealthy, and guns. But yet for most undereducated white people that seems far better than a party who at least try to help the brown people and the poor. So many ignorant horsefeathers voting against their own best interests. Main...

I don’t actually like baseball and was mostly hung up on the Cubs never winning. Once they finally did, I don’t have to watch it anymore. It’s really just a badly designed sport this is so real lol. Also 2016 was just so good as a cubs fan. Javy became Javy, peak KB, pitching was good, we were the ...

I know nobody cares, but I'm going to pull a Derwood and update anyways. Thankfully, it'll just be the one update rather than continual season updates. I managed a win on diety, barely. And I cheesed the hell out of it to start with by playing Kupe (who can immediately cross oceans) on a Terra map ...

Re: Huge Explosion in Beruit

So the PM of Lebanon says the explosion was the result of 2750 TONS of ammonium nitrate that had been stored there for 6 years. The explosion was the equivalent of a 1.1 kiloton nuclear warhead (minus the radiation, obviously). For reference, the OKC bombing was 2 tons of ammonium nitrate. Not sure...

Bryant has the 4th highest wOBA among the starting 3b they have listed (Bregman way ahead, Arenado a bit ahead, Donaldson in a virtual tie), so the low ranking comes down to playing time and defense (A slight negative). They have Bryant with 180 plate appearances, while pretty much everyone ahead o...

Grimm's stuff is entirely too good for his terrible results. I fully anticipate the Brewers making one minor tweak to him and turning him into an All-Star.

I picked up a few games during the Steam Summer Sale. Red Dead Redemption 2, Hitman 2, and Pathfinder: Kingmaker. Of those three, the only one that has really managed to grab my attention so far is Pathfinder. The only D&D I've ever played is 5th edition. So this isn't using the exact ruleset I'...
