Re: Week 6: Saints at Bears Sunday at 3:25 (2weeks2stew)

Cut off on the preview here, but Kyle Long is 67th out of 69 (nice).

Re: Politics & Current Events

They know that he has t been impeached yet, right? Trump isn’t due jack nor horsefeathers in terms of evidence, witnesses etc. What a band of chuckleheads Right now they are throwing horsefeathers against the wall to see what sticks. Impeachment and removal is over 50% in one the latest polls. If t...

Re: Politics & Current Events

My guess they have decided that just stonewalling the investigation and getting impeached for obstruction is better than all the facts of what happened coming out. Revelations of additional impeachable behavior may actually cause some people's opinions to flip. By just stonewalling it, they can say ...

Re: Video Game Thread

I recommend Outer Wilds for those who haven't played it. It's a space exploration game. You are in this little solar system and you are trying to figure out what happened to this other race whose buildings and technology were left behind. There is a log that neatly organizes these different things ...

Re: Week 5: Bears at Raiders in London (noon on Fox)

I wonder what the odds are of Alex Bars coming off the practice squad after the bye week, presumably replacing Long. From Brad Biggs postgame column below - might be some smoke here. When the Bears made roster cuts from 90 to 53 on the first weekend in September, none of the undrafted rookies made ...

Re: Week 5: Bears at Raiders in London (noon on Fox)

Something's wrong with Roquan and I don't think we can assume he'll be fine. The coaching staff has said he's been acting weird for weeks and now we finally saw it in the game. If Roquan is still acting unlike himself these next two weeks, I think you have to go back to Kwiatkowski until Roquan get...

Re: Week 5: Bears at Raiders in London (noon on Fox)

Yeah Daniels and Whitehair both look worse at supposedly their more natural positions. The longer the offense looks incompetent, the more is on Nagy. The OL changes. The sitting in preseason. The offensive minded coach with an innovative offense should be getting more out of this unit for sure. Sen...

Re: Week 5: Bears at Raiders in London (noon on Fox)

We controlled the LOS quite well against Minnesota last week without him. yeah and kwiatkowski was making all kinds of plays that roquan didn't. i assume roquan will be fine if he actually wants to keep playing football. Something's wrong with Roquan and I don't think we can assume he'll be fine. T...

Re: RE: Re: Week 5: Bears at Raiders in London (noon on Fox)

Yes, yes it will. A Mike Glennon like stopgap cost 15Mil. That's obviously not an upgrade to Trubisky. A slight upgrade like Alex Smith costs 23Mil. A guy like Rivers/Brees would be upwards of 30Mil. The Bears don't have the money for even Mike Glennon if they want to keep guys like Floyd, Robinson...

Re: RE: Re: Week 5: Bears at Raiders in London (noon on Fox)

Yep. Exactly what's gonna happen. Bears are in the fun place where they don't have the picks to find a new QB of the future, and they don't have the cap space to find a stopgap veteran until they have picks. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk While not flush with cap space, as long were just...

Re: Week 5: Bears at Raiders in London (noon on Fox)

Regarding Mitch, I'll parrot what Robert Mays opined on one of the (many) Ringer podcasts; while I don't think Mitch is the "Answer" at QB or even particularly good as a starting NFL quarterback, I'm glad he apparently won't be out for a substantial length of time. Assuming Mitch comes ba...

Re: Video Game Thread

The Untitled Goose Game is everything I never knew I really wanted from a video game. As soon as I can figure how to get the goose to honk "CHAOS REIGNS," my life will be complete. I see everyone losing their horsefeathers about this game. You basically just run around as goose and annoy ...

Re: NFL Week 4

Jordan Howard sure looked good last night. Caught a screen pass for a TD. Ran well. Not sure how his accomplishments offensively don't fit Nagy's system. You are welcome, Philadelphia. He had one good season and was probably the worst 'feature' running back in the league last year (maybe Carlos Hyd...

Re: Week 3: Bears at Washington - MNF on ESPN (7:15pm)

I think he's a headcase. Whether that is being dumb, or lacking or having fragile confidence, or whatever. It's just so jarring to see him make an incredible throw to Gabriel to end the half, then just completely horsefeathering up a gimme TD to Robinson in the 3rd. It's like you can see his brain g...

Re: Week 2 - Chicago Bears @ Denver Broncos - Sunday 9/15 at 3:25 on FOX

I'm kinda shocked how fast the staff whipsawed from having Mitch throw or make RPO decisions on every play to rolling him out there with training wheels on. I think this is an even more alarming signal about Mitch than his performance in week 1. If there were any real mitigating factors to the week ...

Re: Week 1/NFL Kickoff - Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears - Thursday 9/5 at 7:20 on NBC

This whole thing where the ST coach tells Nagy a number for Pinero and he won't attempt kicks beyond that distance strikes me as incredibly bizarre. So if it was a 51 yard FG to win the game, they punt or go for it? What's the point on having this guy on the roster if you can't trust him to make a 5...

GB sat in dime defense all game and Nagy had Trubisky throw it non-stop. I think they had something like 30 consecutive throws to end the game. It was stupid.

Re: Week 1/NFL Kickoff - Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears - Thursday 9/5 at 7:20 on NBC

I've always assumed that Mitch busting means Pace is gone by 2020/2021 and a new GM would come in and hire a new HC. However, I think the Bears desperately want to be more like the Steelers staying consistent with the head coach. If they can manage to avoid a truly disastrous season, winning 8-9 ga...

Re: Week 1/NFL Kickoff - Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears - Thursday 9/5 at 7:20 on NBC

That was probably one of the worst offensive gameplans I've seen in an NFL game. It was completely incoherent from a play calling and personal perspective. I think probably 95% of the fanbase knows what Trubisky is at this point, yet Nagy drops him back 53 times in a 1 score game? He hands the ball ...
