Re: Game 2: bears at bucs, noon on fox

Why is it assumed that developing on the bench is superior to just playing? I feel like every discussion on this topic just assumes this to be true and goes from there.

Re: Game 2: bears at bucs, noon on fox

I'm not surprised they may have a quick hook on Glennon. If they can play solid D and run the ball, that is something in the NFL. It was painfully obvious that the weak link last week was Glennon. 22 net yards passing through 3 quarters and plays left all over the field (as raw pointed out). I don't...

Re: Game 2: bears at bucs, noon on fox

This week I learned that passing for 22 net yards through the first 3 quarters of a game is "fine" and "doesn't lose you the game." Only caveat to this being that you also have to lead a failed 4th quarter comeback. Hopefully we see another "fine" performance from Glenn...

I realized one of my son's books is about Mike Glennon.

Re: Bears game 1 vs Falcons, Sun at noon on Fox

I was stunned how much of the offense they ran through Cohen. People suspected they were trying to "hide" him when he didn't play much in the 3rd preseason game but I wasn't really buying it. I didn't think Fox would be a guy who would make a rookie 4th rounder a critical piece from the fi...

Re: General Chit-Chat thread

A table of four women sit to my right. Beer in hand, I approach them. “Hi, so sorry if I’m interrupting. I just moved here from San Franci—” As the woman nearest me turns her back, she looks up and sees me, then throws up the “peace sign” in my face and turns away, as if to say “talk to the hand.” ...

Count me among those disappointed by LF's fate. They basically just shouted accusations at him (all everything the viewer already knew) and then cut his throat. They didn't even provide any proof. I don't understand the point of Sansa and Arya's ruse. Was it just to psyche him out at the end?

Re: Bears/NFL training camp opens

So much of the rage was the draft experts saying no QB is worth a top 15 pick. Almost all draft related rage is people reacting negatively to deviations from the "established" predicted draft order. I personally love all of the post draft hot takes because literally no one has any idea of...

Dany is really gonna have Aegon her face when she realizes she banged her nephew anyway, dany is gonna get prego and Jon is going to beat the knight's king and then die when the lord of light is like "thanks, got it, appreciate your hard work" and stops keeping him alive. Dany then dies i...

I really doubt any of these highly complex fan theories are going to come to fruition in the show at this point. The show is getting less complex, not more. The majority of the people watching can barely remember the characters' names, I don't think they will pick up on the subtle hints that prove ...

Re: Game of Thrones

We saw them marching before. They barely move. Why are they so fast when they fight and that battle but so slow when they march? Maybe the power of the white walkers allows for short bursts of energy while fighting that gets drained and would be wasted while marching. They routed the crows at the f...

Re: Wrigley Renovations and Related Wrigleyville Stuff

Have you been to Rosemont lately (or at least driven by it on 294)? Yes. so when i think of rosemont it's more like big brand new mediocre chain restaurants and retail and stuff, not really mcdonalds and taco bell, which are pretty much anywhere I concede that my joke would have been more effective...
