Re: Baez impresses Baez

Baez will never be a patient hitter, and I’ve been convinced he really shouldn’t try to be (some hitters are just who they are and they should lean into that and not try to be what they aren’t), but he’s at least not getting himself out like he did when he came up. It would be nice if he could pair...

Re: General Baseball Chit-Chat Thread

God I hate Jason Benetti. Always crying over balls and strikes. Such a small baby of a person. He makes me hate the Sox; at least hawk was entertaining in his belly aching. horsefeathers these [expletive]. I find it really strange in this day and age that the White Sox still haven't figured out tha...

Re: Trade targets 2019

I mean, I'd love to unload junk on Baltimore. Let's just offer Russell and some of our AAA arms for Givens and Villar and see what happens. I don't get the intense love for Castellanos. He's an OK bat and a terrible fielder and he'd be a rental. I don't see "intense love" for Castellanos....

Re: Trade targets 2019

I think this is where I'm at now: Schwarber to San Fran for Pillar and Watson Almora to Iowa until 9/1 Castellanos for prospects Happ replacing Descalso on the roster - Pillar is what Almora is supposed to be: a strong defensive CF who can hit lefties. He takes Almora's spot while Almora get his ho...

Re: Billy Buckner passed away

Whenever I watch baseball with my dad, one of his most common refrains if a Cubs batter has two strikes is how he wants them to, "just make some contact," regardless of whether it's a situation where making a contact out instead of striking out means anything. Some people just still get t...

She totally seems the type to live out a fake christian life only to be found she's actually a horsefeathers person. Most people that wear religion on their sleeve are horsefeathers people deep down. I dont know if I believe that. I do believe that there is a sheep mentality that happens a lot. Par...

He was my favorite player until I started reading Bill James. Then I had an irrational dislike for him, but have come back around.

You can't root for Marchand. Nope. But this Blues team is especially difficult to root for...even for a Blues team. Eh I haven't followed them closely this year but Backes was always my most hated Blue and now he's on the Bruins. Add Backes to Marchand and it is pretty hard to cheer for. At least L...

Re: It’s not me, it’s Yu

Despite last night's extremely annoying loss, I am encouraged by Yu's performance. He looked comfortable and confident out there. I'll take it. Yu was great, and he should've had 6 shutout innings had we not apparently decided to have Russell play 20 feet from third base for that easy ground ball w...

Re: College Basketball 2018-2019

Sounds like its either gonna be Shaka Smart or Juwan Howard. I'd roll the dice with Howard over Smart who is simply an awful actual coach riding his wave from a single FF run at VCU that was like 10 years ago. I really do not understand either of these guys. The first is highly over-rated and about...

I will say this: the interesting thing about this question (I've posed it on fb, too) is the general response (always from people who haven't done it) is "hell no, people beat the horsefeathers out of rentals." But the people who've actually bought from a rental have all been pretty happy...

Re: 2019 is Jason Heyward fixed thread

He’s hitting the ball up the middle FAR more, and pulling FAR less. It appears to be having a ton more success for him. That’s ironic since he spent three years grounding out to second. This is just complete perception. When Heyward was with the Braves and Cards I always thought he was most dangero...
