Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel

mother! was a horsefeathers of a movie. i went into the showing doing my best to stay away from spoilers and i'm glad i did. it's a 2 hour movie and (i think) close to 60-70 minutes of that are close-up shots of jennifer lawrence's face. the sound design was fantastic and the lack of score/music fo...

The Deuce is great television.

Derwood, I know you were feeling that scene with Maggie's boobs and face covered in cream of potato soup.

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel

Our Alamo drafthouse had power surges and fire alarms go off before the movie. They sat everyone in the theater after the listed start time of 1:05pm and proceeded to serve people drinks and food before canceling the viewing of the movie 45 minutes later. Alamo comped everyone for their tickets, foo...

https://twitter.com/DaynaRoselli/status/902600567289036800 this popped in my feed because i follow some vegas accounts, but i feel like this looks like a bizarro version of KB, montero, lackey, and schwarber or basically the guys that would play them in a made for usa network movie about the 2016 c...

Re: Game of Thrones

Count me among those disappointed by LF's fate. They basically just shouted accusations at him (all everything the viewer already knew) and then cut his throat. They didn't even provide any proof. I don't understand the point of Sansa and Arya's ruse. Was it just to psyche him out at the end? didn'...

Dunkirk in IMAX 70mm was absolutely incredible. Easily my favorite movie of the year. Loved how the film relied on sound editing and its score to propel the movie forward. Hans Zimmer's score was off the charts.

AV Club's been slip-sliding pretty noticeably for at least a couple of years now in terms of their content, so this sadly doesn't feel all that surprising. Like, it's not terrible, but at this point it really feels like the AV Club/Vulture/Buzzfeed/Vox/the Gawker sites/etc. all basically are just t...

Re: Game of Thrones

what's the official word with arya and the faces? can she put anyone's face on or does she need to touch them/kill them in order to wear it? imo, her putting on cat stark's face and then killing littlefinger would be the ultimate.
