Re: CDC Info on COVID-19 (Corona virus)

If the Dec-Jan flu was really coronavirus, there’s no way to know? If doctors can’t figure out a reoccurring flu, they don’t take swabs and send them off to a lab? If there’s no specific test for that strain of flu, there’s really no point. My daughter got sick in January and tested negative for fl...

Re: CDC Info on COVID-19 (Corona virus)

I wish that Johns Hopkins map was detailed enough to break it down by major cities as well. Are there alternative data maps that do that that anyone knows about? State health department websites are your best bet. Both Illinois, MO, and MN have it broken down by county on their state websites so I ...

Re: CDC Info on COVID-19 (Corona virus)

How does the state of NY have more positive tests than Illinois has people tested? And if you haven't seen it, here's the official JHU tracker. It's updated pretty quickly and is often more accurate than the state level trackers based on what I've seen of MO and IL. https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.h...

Re: CDC Info on COVID-19 (Corona virus)

I would think looking at total cases is not a good measure at all. The US is far bigger than Italy. If you want to compare, compare similar sized and populated areas. Someone else said it here, we essentially have different outbreaks all over the country and each may be different. As far as how bad...

Re: What should I work on next?

I don't know what changed but ever since the great blackout of 2020, this site is marked as suspicious and inaccessible at work. Therefore, I rarely visit anymore because I can't pull it up there. Anything that can be updated to change that?

Re: CDC Info on COVID-19 (Corona virus)

The freak out over this is absolutely nuts. I don’t believe the statistics for a minute because of the lack of symptoms in some people and the lack of available testing and reliability of testing that is available. I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re only getting about 50% of the reported cases that ac...

Re: Politics & Current Events

Oh, there's definitely plenty to chew on. How about this? Klobuchar's sudden momentum in NH was largely fueled by a surge in support from college-educated white women, a demographic that had previously been firmly behind Warren. Gee, if only I could figure out what the common thread that is that wo...

Re: Kris Bryant is awesome and we were always right to love him

So putting international signees aside, the problem with this system is that it places an even greater premium on drafting college players in the draft because they can make the big leagues faster than HS players. A top college prospect can be ready within 1-2 years after being drafted while most t...

I'm 6 episodes into The Witcher and I'm still not entirely sure what is going on. The friend that recommended it said there were 3 different timelines. If I hadn't been told that I'm not sure how I was supposed to follow the story. Yeah, they did a terrible job of making that easy to decipher. I ha...

I finished the 3rd season of Goliath on Prime last night. I really liked the first 2 seasons and this one was fine, but man were there a lot of weird, time filling psychedelic detours that really didn't add much to the story. Season one seemed to hit the sweet spot between what I usually like watch...

Re: NFL Playoffs: Wildcard Round

Not sure where to put this, but this is probably the best place. Luke Kuechly retired. It's suck for a guy to see awesome players like him, Willis, Gronk, etc. to retire so early, but it's the right decision. Saw the headline, has he been hurt? Or just trying to get out of the NFL alive? He missed ...

That was a touchdown https://i.ibb.co/1RzFPqL/8-D7-EF829-60-EF-434-D-8-D64-AF7-C3-CC8068-C.gif I assume you’re talking about the second half kickoff? If we’re going to be sticklers, technically it should have been called an illegal forward pass if the ball is going to be considered live.

Re: 2019-20 Offseason Rumors/General Chit-Chat

For a team with no money, they sure have wasted money on all of these ridiculous signings. They've spent maaaaaaybe $6-7 million give or take on like a dozen players and most of that is non-guaranteed. It's not wasted in a few ways: so much $/WAR potential, more MiL options, and all that non-guaran...

Well that’s just dumb. Even in the insanity of secondary beer world pricing, they don’t hold any value beyond retail.
