Re: The Cardinals

His offensive profile is kinda Almoraish Yeah, but there is just something about Bader that the Cardinal fans like more than Almora. Does Bader like to drink and drive or beat his wife too? Funny you should ask. [tweet] https://twitter.com/bestfansstlouis/status/1030874109343948800?s=21 [/tweet]

Re: The Cardinals

I was watching the game against the Nats last night and the praise for anything any of their players do well is just so over the top gushing that it's gross. DeJong made a decent play in the hole and Bader made that jumping catch and it sounded like they had just made a World Series game 7 saving pl...

Re: NL Central Also-Rans: Reds, Brewers, Pirates

The Cardinals are not in any mix Criticize it and dismiss it all you want, but the great dark purge seems to have really lifted morale in that clubhouse. Eh, I think it was getting rid of the old clueless whitey-in-charge, i.e. this guy: https://assets.change.org/photos/5/og/yd/hyOgyDYPUgDVuYG-800x...

Re: #NotAllPitchers

Anyone else remember the 'Nelson will be back in the rotation in June' headlines before spring training? I still can't believe those were written, he tore his labrum in September. Yeah it was crazy. I don't know a lot about rehabbing injuries but wasn't Schwarber's comeback in the same season after...

I think the whole salsa thing is pretty horsefeathering stupid Oh come on, you'd love it if it was a Cub thing. On the other hand, yeah, he's a Texas guy and buddies with Arrieta so he's likely a bible thumping weirdo. Also, if you can't hit anywhere in the lineup but the 1 spot, you're not an MVP....

Re: How much is 1 WAR worth?

Let's talk bigger picture: The Cubs' TOTAL fWAR (hitting and pitching) is 29.7 By comparison: Astros; 41.7 Red Sox: 41.6 Yankees: 40.9 Indians: 36.7 Dodgers: 33.0 A's: 30.1 Braves: 28.9 Cardinals: 28.5 Brewers: 27.8 Is team fWAR the be all end all? Of course not. But despite being in first place, m...

Re: General Baseball Chit-Chat Thread

I'm trying to figure out how the Padres and Pirates got the exact same jersey (as I typed that I got a bit paranoid, please note I'm mildly colorblind so If the aren't actually the exact same colors I blame that) They look the same to me. Cubs, Dodgers, Royals and Jays all look the same colors to m...

Re: THE Bryce Harper in 2018 Thread

If somehow we could convince Kershaw to opt out after this year and pay him 6 years/185-200 million, we might be better off than Harper at 10yrs./350 million. Kershaw certainly fills a bigger need than Harper, especially with the emergence of Bote possibly moving Bryant to the OF. What kind of craz...

Re: Baez impresses Baez

That's a terrific play to just field the ball, but the most impressive thing to me is the perfect footwork (and how quick it is) to get back to his feet and be in a position to unleash the bullet throw that's so damn accurate.

Girardi is actually an intelligent person though. There’s no way he’s possibly as bad as Matheny.

Re: "horsefeathers looks like The Thing" - The Kyle Schwarber Thread

He’s a decent athlete who’s getting better at the position but still occasionally misjudges a ball and has an above average arm that is pretty accurate. He’s fine out there just like most people who knew he was still learning to be an OF thought he would be.

Re: General Baseball Chit-Chat Thread

Harold Reynolds just said he had a problem with Bryce Harper’s .219 batting average and then followed that up with “he’s making an out eight out of 10 times”. I’m at a loss for words about how stupid that statement is.
