Re: Bullpen Options

What’s the situation with Trevor Rosenthal and would he be worth trying to stash this offseason? He had to have TJS or some sort of surgery and I think he’s going to be out for the entire year. Hard pass for me, if we are going to do the 2 year sign and stash thing for a guy Pineda would be my targ...

Re: Beer Thread 2.0

Different strokes. the bourbon is overpowering everything else for me. Dragon's Milk is about the only one I can sort of tolerate, not that I've tried a lot. I know my likes. Have you had Bourbon County? Or any of the other well thought of BA stouts? Because if you haven't that's probably the issue...

Re: Beer Thread 2.0

I like stouts and heavy wheat beers in the winter. I like crisp, hoppy beer all year round. I like pils and lagers in the summer, but Oberon is my go-to beer in the summer. Sometimes, malty beers are good. I like a doppelbock on occasion. I don't care for lambic beers but I like most Abby beers. Bo...

Re: Beer Thread 2.0

Its really great just seeing cases and cases of Bourbon County still sitting around most grocery stores in the area. Would be great if they sent us some Coffee or Barleywine too. Picked up some CBS bottles over the weekend too. I dragged my dad with me to Binny's in Lincoln Park to get the good stu...

"Probably," because you're desperately holding out hope for a SLIGHTLY less horrible Republican who you could convince yourself that you could vote for without a guilty conscience (spoiler: you'd still be guilty as horsefeathers). Your take on this is straight insane. You’re putting a who...

Re: Corporate grab ass shenanigans, and so much worse

So, not to be team Sulley here, but shouldn’t the punishment fit the crime? I know using the Moore situation is at best a questionable way to go, but hear me out. Franken’s actions to me are akin to getting pulled over for speeding with a BAC of .08. Yeah, you’re wrong and there should be consequenc...

Re: Offseason Transactions

Good move by them in my opinion. He'll be 35 when it's up and that seems like a really safe age to give yourself an option to move on from a player. He and Trout kinda quietly smashed the last couple months of the season and almost got the Angels into the playoffs. Couple of other good touches this...

McGee 10 years out from TJS is not appealing to me. Even with reduced usage as a reliever, he's essentially a ticking time bomb isn't he?

https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-cubs-already-need-to-retool/ There are obviously enough core pieces in place to just make some minor adjustments and still come back as the favorites in the NL Central. A year ago, it looked like the Cubs could mostly just put things in cruise control and win the...

It can't be worse than the Louisville broken leg in the NCAA Tourney, right? I'm not watching either again to make that determination, but this one has more force coming down because he got taken out on an alley oop. The Louisville broken leg went through the skin, but tonight Hayward's ankle was j...

I just spent 20 minutes explaining to a Cards fan why Molina likely won't get into the HOF using Ozzie Smith as a comparison point and the idiot still didn't understand how enormous the gap between what Ozzie did defensively vs....

i think the fact that he didn't try to force anything today is impressive in its own right Yeah, even the pick last week wasn't that bad. He took a calculated risk and didn't quite put the ball where he wanted. He's certainly not afraid to try to make a play and he's got the skills to do it in a lo...

Yeah, the escape and throw on 3rd and 11 is a flash of what could be. Mobile, good vision, and a strong as hell arm to make that throw without his feet underneath him.

Well that's an unfortunate way to give up a TD if it stands.
