Re: On Bended Knee - The Rizzo Thread

I remember sensing the tide turning in late 2014. First, IIRC, it was Alcantara (lol) and Hendricks getting called up around the same time. Then Javy which was super exciting until he started striking out in 80% of his PAs. Then Soler came up and did crazy awesome things. Rizzo had turned it around...

Yes, I am sure that the all-time leader in K/9 doesn't know how to fool batters.

Re: Jordan/Bulls Doc Release Pushed Up To April 19th

it's funny how they spent all that time on kerr, but still kind of undersold his game a little bit. he wasn't a complete scrub like rudy or something, he had a truly elite skill. he shot .454 career from three. like yeah he was a role player, but they didn't even mention how lights out he was as a ...

That was really, really unfunny.

I don't know if SNL was always unfunny and I didn't realize it or if it just got really unfunny but I couldn't agree more. Who tf thought people would laugh at that?

Re: Jordan/Bulls Doc Release Pushed Up To April 19th

His family didn't report him missing for 21 days. I had not heard this before. This is for real? That's nuts. A total of 21 days passed before family members reported Jordan missing. His 57th birthday came and went on July 31, nine days after he had last been seen alive. On the 22nd day, his body w...

Re: Jordan/Bulls Doc Release Pushed Up To April 19th

I wonder how in-depth they're going to get on the James Jordan murder. There are a lot of bizarre details that raise questions. He was driving from Wilmington to Charlotte at around midnight and... pulled over to the side of the road to take a nap? He was allegedly shot in his car when he woke up bu...

Is it just me or is Reinsdorf going to be completely let off the hook in all of this? He couldn't have just fired Krause if he was causing so many issues with the team?

Re: General Cubs Chit-Chat

Latest Forbes report says Cubs are worth $3.2 Billion, not a bad return on spending $845 million in 2009. So why did we have to sit out this offseason free agency? There are many ways to answer your question, but the $3.2B figure isn't the best. It's not a "return," it's a valuation. A si...

Re: General Cubs Chit-Chat

Anyone watching Game 7 right now? Contreras just doubled to make it 3-1. Yeah, I'm watching it and the quick hook on Hendricks still pisses me off. The bad call from the ump on a clear strike 3 before Maddon pulls Hendricks also pisses me off... We came so close to blowing this lead lol. I used to ...

Re: NL Central: Reds, Pirates and others

I know yelich is way better than bryant, but its still embarrassing that the brewers are extending their guy for huge money and the chicago cubs are looking to trade theirs to save money Would Bryant even accept that deal? 215 means way more to the brewers than 250-300 does to the cubs but it's not...

Re: Cubs TV broadcast rights

Marquee Sports recently agreed to pay $132 million a year on average for the rights to Cubs games, or more than double the previous deal. The network stands to lose about $100 million a year in subscriber revenue from the blackout on Comcast, based on a $5-a-month price. Even a settlement at less-t...

Re: Potential Kris Bryant trade thread

Surely the Cubs aren't so far gone that we'd trade for a slightly older, very slightly better, significantly worse contract just to say we did something. Occam’s Razor would imply that if we think the FO is sharp, if they did do that trade either: 1. They don’t think Nolan is just slightly better m...

Re: Kipnis to Cubs Minor League/NRI Contract

Honestly, if you give me 10 minutes to go back and watch highlights...give me Game 6 against the Dodgers every day. Outside of the fact that it ended with Chapman on the mound, it's pretty much perfect. My favorite thing (other than the obvious WS stuff) to watch from that run is the comeback in SF...
