Re: Offseason Transactions

At this point, I think there's a decent chance one of Cobb or Lynn may wind up settling for less than we gave Chatwood. Do have to wonder if maybe we jumped on Chatwood a bit early. Revisionist obviously, but Cobb at 4/52 versus Chatwood at 3/38? I can see Chatwood winding up better, but I liked Co...

Re: Food Monstrosities

I haven't checked this thread in a while, but Arby's..... Anyone remember their Pot Roast Sandwich? I think it was around about 20 years ago..... There's no way in hell there's a worst sandwich ever been made. It looked good on TV, so I ordered it. Took a bite, figured I must have imagined how putri...

We'll be 10 games up on the Brewers by the end of May.

But every time I look at this thread, I wonder why the Cards aren't included.

Re: Hosmer to the Padres - 8 Years $144M

I guess this is their version of Gil Meche (when he signed with the Royals) or Jayson Werth (with the Nationals). It's a "we're close" move at a decent enough price. They are close ... their assets coming up could form a strong foundational core in the next year or two, and the team in of...

Re: Offseason Transactions

Padres fans now know how I felt when we signed Soriano... Ownership picking the wrong year and the wrong guy to open the pocketbook for. I'm not defending Hendry, but there's a humongous difference between those 2 moves. At least the Cubs signed a bunch that off season. Bought themselves into being...

Obviously, he's taking his time developing that shiny new analytics department.

Or he rage quits tonight, if Fangraphs will take him back.

Re: Bears 2018 Offseason: Matt Nagy Hired as Head Coach

https://twitter.com/NFLDraftBites/status/964701861218586624 Have seen some speculation that Robinson gets franchised, but I'd love to add him. I'd take him over Landry easily. He had a disappointing year in 2016 (probably Bortles related) then tore his ACL. I feel like Landy is more of a sure bet b...

We're probably going to have the chance to draft a top 10 talent this year, that falls. Either injury or signing demands.

Re: THE Bryce Harper in 2018 Thread

Schwarber is going to be too good for us to consider moving. Ideally, Heyward puts up a .750+ OPS and we can send prospects with him to someone. More likely, we move Zobrist, in the same manner. With Hayward basically becoming the highest paid defensive replacement in MLB.

Re: Offseason Transactions

I know we are making fun of it, especially if he’s in their plans to be in the rotation out of ST, but I wouldn’t mind a similar move for a remaining FA SP like Hellickson, Feldman, Tillman, etc or even turning Eddie Butler’s contract in to something similar to what Miley got to keep him since he d...

Re: THE Bryce Harper in 2018 Thread

Its beyond hilarious that the national media hasn't caught this stuff.....They consistently bring up that Theo always gets his guy......

So, I guess we'll be subjected to tons of articles next off season, bringing these quotes up. "We all should have saw this coming, Theo tried to tell us."

That was the worst real win of the year.

Winding up with the 8th or 9th pick is going to suck.

Re: Cubs Offseason Rumors

We're probably done and I'm absolutely OK with that. We do probably have a bit of money to play wit, if we wanted to though, and still be fine for deadline acquisitions. On what though? If a guy like Cashner took 5-6 mill? I'm in. I don't think he's taking it, but if he did, I'd be more than OK with...

They're too stupid to realize the back end of the deal happens on the next CBA, where the LT is going to be close to 300.

I'm not mad about this win. It was cool watching Lauri and Lavine go horsefeathers I'm pissed Lauri got 7 shots. Wow...I guess it was just my perception because everytime I looked up it seemed like he was making shots At least he hit 5 of them lol. Seriously, Portis took a 3(he did hit it), with La...
