Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

3 points for the 2nd straight game for Lauri. 6th time in 52 that he's been under double digits. They've got to feed him the ball and get him back going. Its easy to see that Lopez helped him get open. He needs to be more aggressive at this point. Side note, its going to be impossible catching some ...

Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

After a 3 point game, Lauri is scoreless at the half and the Bulls lead by 2 in Minnesota. LaVine looks damn good. So does Nwaba lol. For that matter, Vonleh looks like he has a bit of upside.

Re: International Free Agency Thread 2018-2019

In Kiley's chat today, he listed Gallardo as the 2nd best pitcher there. Said there were a few guys not there, but no idea if he meant pitchers. He did say that the group he listed were all signing for at least 500k and some of them were getting over 2 mill. Connecting the dots.....If Gallardo is t...

Re: International Free Agency Thread 2018-2019

Badler just linked us to Gallardo. He sure did. Said he was the standout there today despite not having the best FB velocity, with the best combination of fastball, offspeed stuff and control. He's 6'1", 187 lbs. Gallardo is the second 7/2/18 IFA linked to the Cubs. The first is 16-year old Do...

Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

Good (bad) loss? I was actually hoping they'd win that game against Philly. I'm happy they lost, but it was in agonizing fashion. Geez, Embiid, Simmons and maybe Saric is such a great group of young players to build around. They're gonna be really good for a long time with the standard caveat that ...

Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

Bulls lose because Denzel was in on the tank at the end. Sit Lopez and Holiday, Lauri scores 3 points..... And Portis gets 38, Nwaba gets 21. Blowing a 5 point lead in the last minute is huge.

Re: 2017 Post-Season Prospect Rankings (BA, Fangraphs, BP)

I'm gonna have to start keeping a list of the players that are inexplicably ranked in front of Rucker. Erling Moreno? Erling '64 IP in 14 injury-plagued and walk-filled starts' Moreno? Eh, there's some upside there. He's obviously ridiculously unlikely to ever see it. He's been hurt a bunch. But, i...

Re: Bears 2018 Offseason: Matt Nagy Hired as Head Coach

I'd feel more comfortable with that too. With QBs in play, its definitely feasible to think we may get a premium too. Especially if a QB is still sitting there at 8. In case its not, I'd prefer making the deal early though. Buffalo is the perfect team to do this with though, since they'd still have ...

Re: 2017-2018 NBA Season

Cuban telling his players they might as well lose and then bringing it up in an interview doesn't sound very smart for him to do. He may be right, but you can't just say that.

Re: Bears 2018 Offseason: Matt Nagy Hired as Head Coach

Already some talk the Fins are going to try and trade Landry. If so, I think my ideal scenario is to give up our 2nd for him and to trade 8 and our best 4th for 22, 53, and 55. I don't know if I liked it, without knowing you'd get a WR. But, if our 2nd could net Landry, I'd do this trade with Buffalo.

Re: Bears 2018 Offseason: Matt Nagy Hired as Head Coach

I really want Trubisky to have a good group of WR's.

Leming brought up a scenario of Meredith, Albert Wilson or Doug Gabriel, Marqise Lee or Paul Richardson, and a 2nd or 4th Rounder.

I'd puke.

Re: Bears 2018 Offseason: Matt Nagy Hired as Head Coach

Buffalo is evidently talking about trading up. They've got 21, 22, 53, and 55. Not that the trade value chart is a great example, but pick 8 is 1400. 21 and 22 are 800 and 780. 53 and 55 are 370 and 350. Their 3rd is pick 96 and is valued at 116. Our 2 4ths are at 96 and 72 points. To match value, i...

Re: RE: Re: Bears 2018 Offseason: Matt Nagy Hired as Head Coach

Why? Putting THAT much money into your interior line is not a great use of money. Move Whitehair or draft Nelson. Or find some other decent guy. But, there's plenty of ways to solve OG without using that much cap space. Sounds like you're happy with relying on a bounceback from Whitehair (good as a...

Sweet. We're at least going to try and lose.

There was another quote saying Lopez, Holiday, and Grant will sit for blocks of games. Hope that means against the other horsefeathers teams.

Re: Offseason Transactions

I'd have loved Dyson at that price. Realistically, the only way I can see how it'd work(without Almora or Happ being sent down) would be go with 12 pitchers and just constantly use the 10 day DL, to keep everyone getting innings(and healthy). But, considering we used the DL less than anyone last yea...

Re: Offseason Transactions

At this point, I think there's a decent chance one of Cobb or Lynn may wind up settling for less than we gave Chatwood. Do have to wonder if maybe we jumped on Chatwood a bit early. Revisionist obviously, but Cobb at 4/52 versus Chatwood at 3/38? I can see Chatwood winding up better, but I liked Co...

Re: Hosmer to the Padres - 8 Years $144M

I guess this is their version of Gil Meche (when he signed with the Royals) or Jayson Werth (with the Nationals). It's a "we're close" move at a decent enough price. They are close ... their assets coming up could form a strong foundational core in the next year or two, and the team in of...

Re: Offseason Transactions

Padres fans now know how I felt when we signed Soriano... Ownership picking the wrong year and the wrong guy to open the pocketbook for. I'm not defending Hendry, but there's a humongous difference between those 2 moves. At least the Cubs signed a bunch that off season. Bought themselves into being...
