Re: International Free Agency Thread 2018-2019

We traded Michael Roth to the Rangers apparently. Do they have any IFA money to trade that could be coming back? Not that I’d assume it would be anything great but if they are in the penalty box who knows? You saw that idiot Charles the Cat trying to suggest this, didn't you? I did not. I think I s...

Re: 2018 Draft Thread

Our 1st round slot is 2.724 mill. Pick 36 is where slot falls under 2 Mill. If we're getting a discount down to 2 mill total, it conceivably comes from a guy thinking he falls to 36 or later.

I like Hannah a bunch. If we were going to under slot a college guy in the 1st, I think he's my top choice.

Re: The Manny Machado Thread

So let's say Baltimore were to take most/all of Heyward's contract (and his weak pop outs to the SS behind 3B)....how much more in layer compensation would the Cubs need to come up with? For instance, if Addy, Monty and Alzolay is a huge overpay straight up...is it a huge overpay if they took all/m...

Re: 2018 Draft Thread

Hoerner seems like a very safe pick. But, also a guy you save on and spend big on a HS kid in the 2nd. I can see weighing HS kid in the 1st, with college bat in the 2nd, versus the opposite..... And I can see where your take the college bat first, due to a larger dropoff. There's plenty of HS arms, ...

Re: 2018 Draft Thread

I'm not too worried about it honestly. Its our 2nd rounder we seemingly go with the "his stuff ticked up late" guy..... Stinnett, Rob Z, Abbott, might even be forgetting one.

Gotta like the GOFO!

When I first saw this, I thought you said GTFO, because he finally had a strong start all the way thru.

Re: Orioles are shopping Machado and the Cubs are interested per Gordo

Theo is very smart, but he's also a risk-taker. I'm sure he's thinking about some way to fleece Baltimore again lol. Oh for sure. He's going to be in on Machado, as he should be. But I know he won't do anything as stupid as Baez or Russell + Monty for a rental. Yeah, I'm okay with giving up Monty +...

Re: International Free Agency Thread 2018-2019

I like Bote and would like to keep him, but I honestly wonder if the Orioles would really like him? He can play all over the IF (probably some OF too), is cheap and seems like he could be a second division starter for them. They lose Machado this year and Schoop is a FA after next year so they have...

Re: International Free Agency Thread 2018-2019

I'm not arguing what the value of IFA money has been, in the past. This is a different scenario. Last year, you had multiple teams pursuing Martinez. But, there were multiple teams that had money left over and also multiple teams that were willing to trade off money. If it's true that all teams have...

Re: International Free Agency Thread 2018-2019

Yeah, they're dumb. Not sure if you can actually pay money for IFA dollars or not. But, the fear is that even the light bulb will/has already clicked, because even they'll be like "Wow, there's been 22 teams wanting our IFA money, I bet we can get someone to give us something good!" Becaus...

Re: International Free Agency Thread 2018-2019

There's probably a team of two out there that haven't committed their entire budget, or even extremely close to it..... But, it's definitely possible all teams are fairly close. Making it conceivable that if a team could trade for the max they can get from the O's, it's land them Mesa AND Rodriguez....

I think at this point, this is my list..... Tier 1 Ayton Tier 2(slight drop from 1) Bagley, Doncic Tier 3(decent drop from 2) Bamba, MPJ, Carter, JJJ Tier 4(slight drop from 3) Young, Mikal Bridges, Sexton Tier 5(huge drop from 4) Robert Williams, Zhaire Smith, Gilgeous-Alexander, Lonnie Walker, Dza...

Abbott goes 6 2 0 0 2 11. He's at 95 pitches, so I'm guessing he's done.

Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

I think Ayton is the best player in the draft, but I do think Bagley is an All Star. 7 seems ideal for them to trade down to, if they want Mikal Bridges. Taking on Parson's deal and giving us 32 is my hope for the trade. But, I only do it for Bagley and maybe Doncic. Otherwise, I will roll the dice ...

Some rumors from the Combine that could shape things up for is at 7..... 1. Phoenix- Ayton 2. Sacramento- Bamba or MPJ 3. Atlanta- Trae Young 4. Memphis- Prefers trading down to take Mikal Bridges 5. Dallas- 6. Orlando- 7. Chicago- If the top 3 goes like that, you've got Doncic, Bagley, JJJ, and on...

According to NBADraft.Net, we're the landing spot for Chandler Hutchison at 22 and the Lakers are the same for Mitchell Robinson, at 25. Both p!ayers decided against working out at the combine, indicating they had a guarantee in place.

Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

any interesting draft and stash guys projected to be available around 22? the bulls have had some success with that approach in recent-ish years with Asik and Mirotic. There's been talk of Dzanan Musa staying overseas for a year. He potentially is worth taking at 22. I'm a big fan of Isaac Bonga, b...
