They've got to be trying to move picks from next year.

Re: Bears 2018 Offseason: Matt Nagy Hired as Head Coach

Just looked at some FA that are still out there, in case we don't fill a hold or 2. Obviously, the pickings are slim, but not barren.... WR- Dez Bryant, Eric Decker, Dontrelle Inman OG- Jahri Evans DE/OLB- Dee Ford, Junior Galette, Willie Young CB- Bashaud Breeland (can't pass physical for a few mon...

And O-Line is not. It looks like we may be bargain bin shopping for a Guard in FA.

Re: Bears 2018 Offseason: Matt Nagy Hired as Head Coach

I like Smith a bunch. Would have loved the Bills trade though. Edmunds, plus 53 and 56, would have been very nice. Pace has said he'd like to pick up a 3rd. So, our customary trade down in the 2nd, or using a future pick to jump back in, could be on the agenda. Would love a Guard or a Wide Out at 39...

Re: Bears 2018 Offseason: Matt Nagy Hired as Head Coach

I'd love Nelson. Would be very happy with Smith at 8 too. But, if Nelson is off the board, I'm ok trading back to 11,12, or 15. You're still getting one of Smith, Edmunds, Fitzpatrick, or Ward at 11 or 12. Potentially even at 15. If not, then I'm happy enough with McGlinchey, Davenport, or Landry th...

Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

As long as his back looks good, he's who I want at 6 or 7. If its iffy, then I want Bamba. If both those are off the board at 6, JJJ is likely available and he'd be my next choice. But, I AM worried about Porter defensively and if he can be effective in the NBA at the 3. Still, the upside is enormou...

Re: International Free Agency Thread 2018-2019

Mlb.com came out with their top 30 IFAs. They list the Cubs with Gallardo (5th) and Lopez (17), who we had heard about, but also have them on another LHP at the back end of the list named Joel Machado (28). That SS we heard them linked to, Rafael Morel, was not listed. If we're guessing pricetags, ...

Re: Bears 2018 Offseason: Matt Nagy Hired as Head Coach

I'm really hoping we trade down. I'm perfectly fine with any of Nelson, Edmonds, Ward, Fitzpatrick, Smith, Jackson, Davenport, or Landry. Those last 3 could/should be around in the middle of the 1st. I've even seen Landry last until the 2nd in a few mocks. If that's remotely possible, I'd be beyond ...

i remember feeling like i was on a one man crusade in his defense in the 2014-15 offseason but i'm sure i wasn't the only one on his side I know I've been pro-Javy on everything. I don't remember any long debates on his defense. I DO remember you replaced him in your signature last year with Happ, ...

Re: International Free Agency Thread 2018-2019

I can't get anyone to answer a question on who's linked to Rodriguez. I remember seeing someone list some teams expected to spend heavily and the Cubs weren't mentioned. But, you can't take much from that, as it could have just been a list of teams that have already committed big money. I'm definite...

Yeah, Little disappointed last year with his velo. But it could be written off by being the end of the year. There's no excuses now though. Its just down and his strike zone command still seems non existent too.

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 4-16-18

How hard would it even be to get under the LT in 2 years after Zobrist, Morrow and Lester are all off the books, that’s over $50 million between the 3? Hopefully we just suck it up and take the LT hit the next 2 years and get under/reset the year after that. Oh, we're going to go over. Next year. W...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 4-16-18

Didn’t AZ get destroyed by pretty much everyone when they made that deal though? They did. But, a team isn't taking on a 100 mill, without getting something very good in return. And for these next few years, I think there's going to be a decent amount of these deals. Because I don't see a single te...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 4-16-18

The commish job is not THE reason. The true point is Hayward sucks, is paid lots of money, and moving his salary off the books will give us a bunch of added flexibility. It would take Ademan plus to move him . But, the added draft picks, plus the IFA class additions, should allow us to move a few g...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 4-16-18

Don't see them or ANY team heading into the draft pick loss section of the luxury tax, no matter how much money they can afford to spend. Theo especially, since he may have designs on the commissioner gig himself, at some stage. MLB doesn't want teams exploiting that and I don't see teams doing it....

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 4-16-18

Probably not. But I don't remember Arizona's system when they moved Touki with Arroyo. At any rate, I think they'll do their best to move Heyward, for Bryce. And it's take Ademan plus other solid prospects to get a team to eat most of that deal. And I think the FO would jump at doing it actually . ...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 4-16-18

I'm not worried about K rates with Ademan yet. Nor am I going to take his SLG rates seriously either. But, I do think he's a top 50ish prospect by the end of the year. And a very nice lead piece to pair with Heyward, to unload his contract, in the offseason. I’m hoping we don’t need to get rid of a...

Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

They're not dealing Portis, but it it took him and the Pels pick, to move up to grab any of these3, I'd do it in a heartbeat. pretty sure portis and our own pick let alone the pels pick doesn't do the job if we end up with the 6th pick Eh, there's at least a chance one of this group makes it to 4. ...

Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

As a UNC fan/alum, it's easy for me to hate Duke guys obviously. I'm not sure I love the fit with Bagley joining Lauri on the front line.... Who's guarding the 5? I'd guess Lauri. But, we'd have some deficiencies for sure. Offensively though? Damn, we'd be fun. Bagley's motor is going to make him an...
