Re: Realistic Trade Targets

Sign Kipnis after the Indians shockingly buyout his option, replace LaStella with a glove player like Igleisias Speaking of the Indians...Would Schwarber/Happ/Almora for Triston McKenzie and Lenny Torres be a bad deal for either side? yes trading 75 percent of our outfield for a 17 year old and an ...

Re: Realistic Trade Targets

Castellanos isn’t a free agent till after 2020 unless I’m misreading Cots. Getting a RH power hitter to offset an all lefty outfield (assuming the Cubs sign Harper) is a great idea, but it would be easier to fill the gaping hole in the middle infield. Sign Kipnis after the Indians shockingly buyout...

Re: Realistic Trade Targets

Should add that Castellanos is mostly about adding a RH bat coming off a ~.350 wOBA over the past three years in his 20’s for pretty cheap. Getting him out of the infield full time may help mitigate some of the damage on defense Frees up Schwarber for a cheap SP, Almora/Happ for a cost controlled r...

Re: Minor League Musings place holder.

This doesn't really relate to the Cubs or their farm system, but I enjoyed these questions in his latest chat on Fangraphs: Chuncey Wiggins: Do scouts ever switch sports? Eric A Longenhagen: Other than Jonah Hill’s Moneyball character, I can’t think of anyone switching sports off the top of my head...

if the kid is a cutter he can join the other probably 10 percent of the school that also does that. I know that's harsh but tell the principal, talk to your daughter's teachers and get them to talk to a counselor, but dont overreact. the kid needs help, not fear and ostracizing.

I was pretty critical of a lot of Season 2 of Westworld, even thought it was cool and entertaining. I'm a fan of this Alt-Shift-X's dood's Game of Thrones stuff. He pointed out some of the inconsistancies I noticed, and a LOT more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0pBbp_eLQg people like this are th...

Re: The Pitching Staff, as a whole

maybe it slipped that Drew Smyly, Alec Mills, and Alzolay are next up im not opposed to moving on from monty ahead of his inevitable turn into a pumpkin but hoisting up these three turds in his place is not exactly enticing So, I'm guessing you're figuring we just don't have the luck for a pitcher ...

Re: General Baseball Chit-Chat Thread

Why is MLB assigning Hernandez to postseason games he has an active lawsuit against MLB for racial discrimination? are you suggesting he should be prevented from working because he's suing the organization that employs him for discrimination? I’m suggesting that he sucks for multiple reasons and sh...

All signs now REALLY point to Graham ending up as AG sooner rather than later. trump sure does have a type The only issue with this logic is she didn’t need to resign to be appointed to Grahm’s seat. She could have resigned as soon as she’s nominated for the appointment. I think she knows what’s co...

you keep ignoring his 2017 just because he missed some games jesus christ the "generation talent" horsefeathers is such a meaningless term anyway. who cares??? he's 26 and he's put up the 8th most offensive war since his debut and half of his career he's been the same age as a low minor l...

Re: The Bryce is Right, Bitch

Honestly, as far as this argument is concerned, it doesnt matter to me what Bryce does going forward. Unless you can tell me that in the history of baseball it is typical that every few years a 22 year old will win MVP with a 1.100+ OPS? The fact that this 22 year old MVP winner was also drafted 1....

Re: The way too early, but I'm bored, Off-season Options Thread

I really hate the idea of trading Schwarber. I feel like he's going to put up some monster seasons, and we aren't going to get a fair return. this is an extremely reductive line of thinking, but it’s the one i’m going with: given all we have constantly heard about how much the front office specific...

So what is the GOP motivation here. Are they hoping that the FBI will somehow discredit Ford? Hoping it wont find much either way but they might convince a few voters they were fair and impartial? They’re hoping the FBI finds something on him so they can lean into that when changing candidates inst...

Would the rangers move odor? They're going nowhere obviously, especially in that division. He was a good defender last year, suddenly had a 10 percent walk rate post July 1 and had a .816 OPS in that time frame.
