Feel good news thread

We have a lot of threads here about the worst things. We need at least one (ok two if you count the dog thread) about good things.

This whole thread is wonderful.

Re: Politics & Current Events

Pete's supporters should be embarrassed https://twitter.com/lizcgoodwin/status/1202642363287511041?s=20 I'd swear, if they weren't so cartoonishly ridiculous, I'd think this was a crafty, well-engineered plot by the GOP to sneak in one of their own as a Democratic presidential candidate. Like, even...

Re: Politics & Current Events

The left is going to regret letting the primary get to stupid levels of attention way too early in the process. Someone like Kamala Harris should be able to fiddle around with the idea of a presidential run, drop out two months for the Iowa Caucus, and have nobody but the nerdiest of beltway politi...

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel

Dunno if anyone else has Plex, but they just added around 1000 movies available for streaming...free. Only catch is that they have some ads during them.

Re: Wife’s TV watching habits

Credit where credit is due....my wife had someone talk her into starting Shameless...and she, in turn, got me to start watching it with her. It's going to take forever for us to get caught up on it...we're midway through season 2...but that's a pretty damn fun show. It gets unwatchable bad. I fell ...

Re: Politics & Current Events

Mayor Pete is gonna end up with the nomination isn't he? Yep...if they only let Iowa vote. Otherwise no. He's running 2nd in New Hampshire, just 4 points behind Sanders. And yes, I realize he's doing horrible in SC, but let's see how those numbers look if he happens to win Iowa and NH. Unfortunatel...

Re: ♫ Star Wars, nothing but...Star Wars! ♫

I think it just is what it is, and that's fine for me. It's not "deep" or whatever at all, but I wouldn't really expect or even want that from something that is essentially Fan Service: The TV Series ; it's simple and fun and the TV version of good fast food. I definitely do not get the p...

Re: ♫ Star Wars, nothing but...Star Wars! ♫

I hat being "that guy," but I don't think The Mandalorian is very good. The stories feel extremely rushed and paper thin. The Mandalorian himself isn't a very interesting character. He seems like a generally good dude who does generally good things, so it's not like we're watching a chara...

Re: Politics & Current Events

I wonder how much of that unpopularity is due to it being such a major focus to the point of exhaustion, while other major issues seemingly get brushed to the side (hello environment).

Re: Politics & Current Events

Correct, though the major difference here is that the GOP voter will always fall in line behind the eventual candidate, while Democrat voters will litmus test themselves to death and petulantly stay home when their favorite candidate isn't on the ticket Just like in 2008 when all those Hillary cent...
