Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel

AMC theaters is in serious trouble. The company also said there was "substantial doubt" about its ability to "continue as a going concern for a reasonable period of time." The "going concern" phrase is a warning that a company could eventually have to file for bankruptc...

Remember when there were breathless articles written about how he was going to be the Democratic candidate for President in 2020?

So, from a pure politics standpoint, there's no way that Biden chooses former prosecutor from Minnesota, Amy Klobuchar, as VP now, right?

Wtf...HBO Max launches today...but isn't available yet on Roku or Amazon cuz they're still working out deals. That's 69% of the streaming market. What a fail.

Re: Politics & Current Events

That's not that bad. I'm sure it wasn't meant to be bad, but Republicans have been able to float the idea that democrats are taking the black vote for granted and its gained a little traction. Telling people their skin color should determine who they vote for doesn't exactly help. Black people almo...

If you PC game at all, Epic gives away free games each week...but right now they're giving away some really good stuff. GTA V was free last week. This week it's Civ VI.

Re: Video Game Thread

I have become addicted to Stardew Valley. It’s just so damn pleasant. I just hit year 3 and am swimming in cash. Plenty of iridium and other high-end crafting stuff too. So I’m interested to see what the endgame looks like and if any of these money-sinks are worth it. If not, I’ll probably start ov...

Re: Jordan/Bulls Doc Release Pushed Up To April 19th

I loved the doc, but it was absolutely a near deification of Jordan. Sure it pointed out his flaws (he's an horsefeathers), but made the point that those flaws all were in the service of winning (It was just tough love)!

It is with great sadness the Chicago Bears and the McCaskey family mourn the loss of Michael B. McCaskey, 76, after his lengthy battle with cancer.

Re: Star Trek thread

There were parts of Picard I liked very much. Overall I was entertained. Yeah, I'm glad there's going to be a second season, and it's not like I hated it...it just struck me as weirdly all over the place, and somehow both really ambitious (relatively, for ST) AND lazy/safe at the same time (again, ...

Re: CDC Info on COVID-19 (Corona virus)

Yeah, IMO, Sweden's "openness" has been HUGELY overstated. I think they've been voluntarily closer to much of the measures in the US than actually being as open as a lot of people want to think. This is obviously extremely subjective, but I know at least one game development company that ...

Re: TV thread

I haven't watched a lot of series TV but just went through The Boys and it's pretty great. The 2nd season was apparently filmed pre-pandemic and is being finalized through work-at-home activity, so the release might well be unaffected (mid 2020). Definitely looking forward to it. I just finally got...
