Re: Politics & Current Events

Trump directed the Pentagon to create a new branch of the Military...the "Space Force". And he used a familiar phrase in doing so... "We are going to have the Air Force and we are going to have the Space Force: separate but equal , it is going to be something so important," he sa...

Re: Golf thread

I don't really follow golf: are people overreacting? The clubhouse interview with Mickelson seemed ridiculous... the guy was effectively asking him if he thought he'd disgraced the game. Is that normal behavior? He asked that question because he disgraced the game. I'm trying to think of a baseball...

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel

Wow, Incredibles 2 had the biggest opening for an animated movie of all time...$180 million. Finding Dory had the previous record at $135 million.

It also is the 8th biggest opening of all time, knocking Captain America: Civil War down to 9th.

Re: Golf thread

This Phil Mickelson controversy is quite something. The USGA really dropped the ball from what it appears. Nope, they got it exactly right. The rule people wanted them to use to DQ him explicitly states that if any other rule covers the violation, it takes precedence. In this case, hitting a moving...

Incredibles 2 was great. The grandmother with her granddaughter sitting in her lap, that were talking and playing through the whole movie right next to me were not great.

This seems even more debatable.

But again...willing to learn.

Are you arguing that Machado is a better 3rd baseman than Bryant?

Re: #MeToo

I mean, yeah...when it's a random high school kid shooting up a place to try to get his name in the papers, don't glorify them or what they're doing.

But when it's a celebrity that's being a dirtbag, you HAVE to call them out, to get them off the pedestal they're living on.

Who the horsefeathers cares about Chris Hardwick? Why the horsefeathers do you care about Chris Hardwick? This is not about him. I'm not trying to defend him. No one said you were. Washington Nationals superstar outfielder Bryce Harper is a five-time All-Star and the 2015 National League MVP, but there's at least one NL executive who reportedly believes Harper is overrated and not worth paying a king's ransom to acquire once he becomes a free agent after this season. "He...

That was the best episode of the entire series IMO. In chatting with the Still Watching podcast, McClarnon revealed that the sweeping vistas and largely dialogue-less scenes in “Kiksuya” were influenced by director Terrence Malick, who explored another, more famous Native story in 2005’s The New Wo...

Re: I like Gold Gloves and I cannot lie: the Jason Heyward thread

I know it's almost a meme at this point to say "Heyward is fixed" and this may not last, but it's really great to see him figure it out, even if it's just for a stretch of a few weeks or whatever. He seems like a really great guy, and he really deserves the success.
