Re: College Football - Week 4 (Sept. 22)

Lot of weird results today. Army came within about 10 yards of being in range for a game winning FG at Oklahoma but threw a pick. OU missed a chip shot for the win but won in OT.

Re: Addison Russell

I want to give the benefit of the doubt to Rizzo. On the one hand, Russell is technically still a member of the Chicago Cubs. On the other hand, Rizzo probably knows a lot about Russell's bad behavior. Something like a "no comment" would be best there, and I really wonder what Rizzo's com...

Re: Addison Russell

im not gonna come down too hard on rizzo here, it could be a weak quote or defense of russell because rizzo is a bad person, or it could be a guy trying to say nothing and stay out of it and word vomiting a little bit. He may end up doing something dumb later or having done something dumb, but I th...

ND is apparently benching Brandon Wimbush for Ian Book, which extends Brian Kelly's streak of not having an undisputed starting QB all season to... Every season he's been there.

Re: Addison Russell

Russell not in the lineup today. I wouldn't be surprised if there's more to come there since Joe and Co. seemed to be hinting at a Schwarber LF/Russell SS/Murphy DH alignment earlier this week.

It blows my mind that ten years ago I was "who the horsefeathers cares what milton bradley does? he has a 1.000 ops" guy and i could be off, but i think most of us didn't give a horsefeathers back then Yeah, I suppose it's some level of progress that there's the level of outrage about the...

Other than being wrong on almost every single thing on that list (how the horsefeathers would he know who has better 'clubhouse leadership'?), that's truly compelling.

Re: Baez impresses Baez

Javy with an outside shot at the triple crown in the NL, now up to 10th in BA, 3rd in HR and 1st in RBI. Likely won't catch Yelich/Gennett for the batting title, but it's a great season. I'm not great at math, but is it even possible for a swing in batting average that great at this point in the se...

Maybe next time don't spend $10M a year on the guy who you have to baby the horsefeathers out of to get down to a 70/30 chance he's going to get hurt

Carolina has wasted the bulk of Cam's career with pathetic receiver play. I'm tired of watching perfectly thrown TD passes flutter to the turf.

2nd time in a row, actually. Brutal performance by the alma mater. Great first drive that they couldn't finish and then it was a bloodbath from there. IU looked really good.

Re: College Football - Week 3 (Sept. 15)

Wisconsin's loss pretty much means that only a Big Ten East team will make the playoffs. Wisconsin's schedule is brutal (a lot of road games against top conference teams) They're basically down to Ohio State and Penn State. I don't see any possible way Michigan beats OSU and that's their only way i...

It sounds like his hamstring injury was not suffered at practice, so perhaps that was a factor.

Re: 2018 remainder of season injury thread

I mean how likely is it really that he pulls a hamstring running 90 feet? I do get that it’s an unnecessary risk with Strop already having pitched 1.2 innings, but apparently Joe was going to have him close it out and go 2.2? Real glad we at least preserved the history and uniqueness of no DH in th...

https://twitter.com/Claudio_GSN/status/1040013279752581129 It's so weird, Wilbon always points out deGrom is great, decries the Mets not scoring more runs for him, then in a roundabout way blames deGrom for that because of his W/L record. It's like he's so close to getting it but there's a mental b...

To be fair, our offseason might well have been the worst in history by a team that was trying to win. Milwaukee didn't have a high bar.

Head to head results, I guess? If that were tied, I don't know what the next move would be - but then, since most inter-division matchups are 6 games per season, if one weren't completed, odds are someone would have the H2H edge.

Liberty's game against Norfolk State will be played Dec. 1, or canceled if Norfolk makes the FCS playoffs. BC/Wa...

It's funny, I really like Impemba and Allen together (being in Michigan I end up seeing a bit more Tigers than I otherwise would) and spent most of last season and this season wondering why bland Kirk Gibson was being emphasized over Allen. I guess I have my answer.
