Re: TV thread

HAWT TAKE: AG is very much like GoT in that it's a prestige show that acts fancy to try and hide that it's mostly dumb as a sack of rocks, and mistakes shock value for some kind of emotional or dramatic resonance. It's OK, but not nearly as good/smart as it (or its fans) thinks it is. COME AT ME, F...

Eh; I'll see it when it gets to Netflix, maybe.

Nah, that's not true....when it gets to FX is more likely.

Almost put this in the politics thread, but figure it'll probably be enough of a sidetrack to go here...hey, guess how much of a [expletive] Matt Taibbi was back in the late 90's? https://twitter.com/oscarmiked/status/855623506507177984 From a horsefeathering REVIEW of the book: https://www.chicagor...

Re: The Starting Pitching Trade Candidates

I remember when Ricky Nolasco hit what wound up being his peak and Pinto and Mitre looked like they'd be useful for awhile, that I thought the Pierre trade was going to be looked back on as a disaster. Pierre was a dud Was he? I mean, yeah, Hendry's reasoning and execution of trading for just a sin...

Re: The Starting Pitching Trade Candidates

Maybe I'm just missing some obvious examples, but I cannot think of too many trades that the Cubs have made that I regret that we made. Like even the Harden deal, he gave us like 25 quality starts and could only go like 4 innings in the playoffs before falling off the rails and if you look at WAR t...

I want to keep Montgomery because the Cubs' pitching prospect tract is a yawning abyss of despair and they can't afford to trade him away.

That trade was horsefeathering amazing. Only the Nomar trade was more exciting for the Cubs in recent history.
