So they go Barkley and Chubb 1 and 4?

I don’t see Chubb getting past the Colts at 3.

Re: Offseason Transactions

Another thing in all this that amazes me, and it's not just MLB it's all the major sports, is that I don't get why former players lead the union (in more than a figurehead role). They are negotiating against billionaire owners and leagues who have guys with Ivy League MBA and Law degrees going up a...

Re: Orioles are shopping Machado - (Cubs in talks per Levine)

I'll preface this with the thought that I've never been over the moon about Machado personally, even before he was a trade target. And I'm closer to a years of team control fetishist so I'm more inclined like you to see big moves be for people who stick around. But the front office is really smart ...

Re: Corporate grab ass shenanigans, and so much worse

I keep waiting for ESPN to take their hit. There’s been a few articles in the past insinuating that many ESPN personalities have been inappropriate or worse. I’m wondering when the flood gates will open on them.

Re: General Cubs Chit-Chat

https://twitter.com/fullcounttommy/status/927682181228646400 Doesn't that probably happen every year though? It stands to reason that Cy Young candidates are pitching for playoff teams and are going to make multiple starts in any playoff series. Not necessarily. Could be that a finalist doesn't mak...

Re: 2017 Playoff Ticket Lottery ($50 refundable deposit required)

Jesus....I'm on a pretty fast connection and was refreshing right up until 12:00...got in as quick as I could and tried to get 4 tickets for game 3, best available. Apparently the best available, seconds after it opening, were standing room. Went back, requested 4 for game 4...section 508. Clearly ...

Any word yet on when he will be making his first start for the Cubs? My family is headed to Atlanta to see the Cubs Monday and Tuesday. Would love to see his debut.

Re: Cubs games on CSN can now be streamed

This is probably a stupid question. I live in the Cubs market and have CSN through U-Verse. I know I can stream the games now when I am at home. But, will I still be able to stream the games when I am out of the market on vacation? If I am sitting in a hotel in San Francisco can I stream the Cubs ga...

Maybe they should try an acronym: GRF.

Hm. That's kinda bad too.

The G-Rate.
The GRate. Or same, the Grate.
...
There is no salvaging this.

They could call it the G Spot, but then no one would be able to find it.

Re: Politics & Current Events

Wikipedia tells me that Pence can't run for re-election as governor by Indiana law if he's running for VP(and he was unopposed within his party), so the democratic nominee(who narrowly lost to Pence in 2012) would probably be the presumptive favorite now. I live in Indiana and I think this actually...

Re: The Cardinals

Saw this over at GRB: People will be confused when the cards finish 20 games behind the Cubs, but we knock them out in the nlds. Just like in 2006 and 2011, we will vastly underperform our Pythagorean in the regular season. The Cards are underperforming based on their pythag, sure. But if the stand...

Re: Cubs vs. Royals All Star Game!

I work as an external employee for another company. Once a year, there's a document I need to sign for my company. They email me the document. I print it, sign it, and fax it back. It's easier than messing with going to a scanner and creating a pdf to email. Just get a free scanner app, take a pict...

Re: Single Game Tickets (Pre-sale info page 2, after the silliness)

I ordered tickets about three weeks ago (feb 27) and haven't received them. When should I expect them in the mail? We are coming to Chicago from Cincinnati in July and am really hoping they didn't get lost in the mail or something. And no, we aren't there for a Reds game, and we won't be rooting fo...
