I won a (recreational) beach tournament with my friends in 90° heat today.
Any other sporting occasions worth mentioning happening today? 8-)

Re: The Travel Thread

Getting married in September, then headed to Europe in October for the honeymoon. We are thinking Paris, so I'm looking for any pro tips from those who have been. We are also open to other destinations, but we only have a week. Thoughts? Lots of stuff to do in Paris, depending on what you both like...

LOL at both Belgium and England fielding their B-side tonight. Probably ensures a better game since players will want to show their potential. Yeah, 9 new starters for Belgium and 8 for England. Clearly neither team cares a ton about winning the group. Both have seen the bracket, but "less tra...

Re: soccer soccer soccer

So there's an interesting scenario in play in the Group G finale between Belgium/England. If Brazil wins their group and Germany finishes 2nd in theirs, the winner of group G would play a Brazil/Germany winner in the quarters, whereas the runner up of group G would play a potentially more desirable...

Good stuff. Why isn’t Chicago in consideration for a host city again? Rahm pulled the city's bid as FIFA wouldn't guarantee that significant local financing wouldn't be required to host, or something of that nature. Two notable absences, Chicago and Vancouver, did not agree to FIFA’s requirements f...

Unfortunately, these stories don't resonate on the fears of this actually happening to our children. Since it is the children of illegals, their lives have lesser value. These are the stories that society should focus on. Nah; most are preparing the old "wir haben es nicht gewusst" defense.

I can't wait for the US to put sanctions on everyone who associates with Iran and then Iran starts their nuke program up again; leading to another war based on finding WMDs. This Q&A session at the State dept sheds some light (or not  ): https://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2018/05/281959.htm
