Re: Golf thread

No, but I do have custom-made $1300 ice hockey skates that I use to play replacement level defense in the second-lowest beer league level. I know how easy I give in to stuff like this. my suggestion is invest in the lessons first and the equipment second. I got a nice new driver but it turns out wh...

Re: Golf thread

Need? Maybe not. But I love hobbies and buying stuff for them, and golf is the ultimate “part men from their money” hobby, so I promised myself I would be reasonable and take it slow. I just ordered a used Cobra Speedzone on a cyber Monday sale. I’ve always thought those looked slick, and used plus...

Re: Len Kasper taking White Sox radio job

I’ve decided Len left because he did not want to work for Sinclair and the Ricketts. The rest is him being who he is, a nice guy and true professional. Nothing else remotely makes sense. I will not waver from this hypothesis. horsefeathers Marquee and most of all, horsefeathers the Ricketts. I’m al...

Re: Len Kasper taking White Sox radio job

As did I, and here we are with Schwarbs and Jorge with the Royals (although that trade was fine). and three straight NLCS appearances when i had previously seen one and a horsefeathering world series ring on all their fingers so basically you're trying to argue that we should give the white sox ext...

Re: Golf thread

Took my new grip to the course today. Since my nephew wasn't with me and I was paired up with other people, I played the white tees. I'm pretty happy with how I did, +14 over 9, so basically a bogey and a half per hole. Miss dispersal is obviously wider when you're playing longer shots, and I lost ...

No. The vaccine does not contain a transmissible virus

It doesn't contain any virus . . .

thanks for mentioning the elbow tuck - made me realize I had stopped doing that. Resumed and crushed my new driver - well, crushed balls with my new driver.

Re: CDC Info on COVID-19 (Corona virus)

so the advisory panel working with the CDC made the obvious recommendation that health care workers and nursing home residents get dibs on vaccines. when i saw that, it occurred to me to see how many people in this country live in such facilities. was shocked it was only 1.5M, at least as of 2015, ...

God as my witness, I'm going to figure out how to stop slicing. I don't care if I start pull-hooking everything down through my 8-iron, at least they won't be slices. I moved further from the ball and that kept me in to out. Too much sometimes. I spent the entire range session today going aggressiv...

Re: soccer soccer soccer

Fun scenarios - With a loss against Borussia, Real Madrid will be out of Champions League. If Inter were to beat Shahktar, Madrid would be out of Europe entirely with a loss. With a draw, RM will need an Inter win to stay alive. Athletico also will to avoid a loss to Salzburg to stay alive. The CL c...

Shakhtar downs Madrid again . . . wow. They may actually go out in the group stages. Gotta wonder if failure to win at Sevilla this weekend will be the end of Zidane -if he lasts until the weekend.

Re: CDC Info on COVID-19 (Corona virus)

So things remain as muddled here as they have been: we formally went back as of yesterday to splitting the workforce in a week on/week off approach as we had been before starting back in March. Though even with that in place, they are still FAR more people here than between March and July, despite ...

Re: The Politics Thread

At a fundamental level, your question indicates strongly to me that you presuppose Republicans want to/are capable of governing in the first place. IMO, history (not necessarily only of the recent vintage) and current events belie that POV. I most definitely am not willing to engage in thought exer...

sadly wasted 90 minutes of my life watching two of the "top" PL teams play out the most boring 0-0 draw I have ever seen. i knew it was gonna be ugly so i took my ipad to the gym and watched it on the elliptical so at least it wasn't a total waste of time Yeah, not surprising in the least...

I mean...budging is basically a way of life for progressives involved in any DNC mechanism, so I can't help but feel like you're pulling a Kyle and using a Bernie Bro cardboard cutout as a stand in for progressive policies and candidates. I think if you asked a bunch of people(heck, keep it to the ...

Re: Golf thread

Thanks guys - I'll look into it. And yeah, definitely look at upgrading the shaft based on the data and go with it if it’s within the budget. It will make a difference. I got a whole new set of clubs ~18 months ago, Titleist TS3 drive and AP3 irons and the rep from Titleist who had me on track man ...
