Re: General Cubs Chit-Chat

Question: Do we go to a 6 man rotation again this year? How big does our lead have to be, or do they want home field advantage too? I think we can go ahead and write off HFA HFA vs the dodgers, sure. HFA vs the Nats in the NLDS is within the realm of outside shot. Doesn't mean enough to NOT do a 6-...

https://m.popkey.co/5757e1/4g36_f-maxage-0.gif evanstonian was actually apete this whole time HA! I've been to like 5 games myself this year and sold/given most of the others away. If I couldn't afford to have season tickets, I wouldn't have them, but being able to recoup some of that cost is nice....

Re: STH Thread

The Cubs ticket resale market is garbage right now. Demand WAY down from previous years. I can't sell tickets for this upcoming homestand at face value on StubHub (more for the buyers because of the fees, I get it, but still). I've given away a handful of games and only made profit on the Opening Se...

Just saw this. I don't think you know what "Poor Man's" means.

I think you mean "anti" Kris Bryant or "bizarro" Kris Bryant.

Unless you're one of the "Kris Bryant is a closet alcoholic" truthers, in which case, I tip my cap.

Re: General Cubs Chit-Chat

Honestly I think the Brewers have a quality brain trust backing Counsell, who is going to be a really good Manager. I like a lot of the trades they made and I believe they'll be actual contenders in a couple years. Then they'll have to accept they can't horsefeathers with us and have to blow it up ...

Re: Blackhawks 2016-17 regular season

It's whatever I guess, they won 3 Cups in Chicago. I think we all would have happily taken that in 2009. Maybe they'll have one more random year where players find a fountain of youth and they go on a run but this series has really shown how old and slow they're getting as a team. I've never seen a...

The Seabrook contract was terrible when they first did it. He should have been the sacrificial lamb from the core.

They're basically one in the same. Most hotel websites call it the Historic District. South of Calhoun is preferred, but there are a few hotels along Meeting St. just north of Calhoun that would be OK as well. I'll second the idea of staying downtown. It's all very walkable, with tons of cafes and ...

I had the Chicken Al Pastor Tacos at the Sheffield Counter/Decade Diner/whatever the hell it's called these days last night. Tremendous. But the service was a complete cluster. Re: Saddest excuse for an opening day SP

The worst pitcher on this list is Scott Feldman, by far.

The worst excuse is the Angels. How the hell do you have prime Mike Trout and end career Pujols and just mail in the rest of the roster?

The Marlins get a pass because of the Fernandez thing and the Padres are just obviously tanking.

Yes. And it is confirmed that it is this space in RF, accessible to all in the regular seating bowl (not bleachers).

You can get anywhere from the bleachers

I think it's toward the corner of Sheffield and Addison, where that old little Sheffield Grill or whatever used to be (by the RF corner of the grandstands). EDIT: This thing. Not sure if it's still there as I am rarely in that part of the park. https://c1.staticflickr.com/7/6195/6075146494_09aed48e...

Re: Straight From the Heart: The signing of Ted Lilly (and Hendry almost dying)

If you want to go way back, 1984 was the year that really started to make attendance and Wrigleyville the place to be. Wrigleyville was a dump, and until the mid 80's you could have purchased any of the buildings on Waveland for example for cheap. Yeah, my friend's dad says he backed out of a deal ...

Re: Straight From the Heart: The signing of Ted Lilly (and Hendry almost dying)

The Hendry-era feels weird now that we've won a title. Yeah. Ultimately for the long-term future of the franchise, it's better that we won it under Theo/Jed than we would have been if we won a "lightning in a bottle" title under Hendry like the White Sox did, but there will always be a pa...

Re: 2016-2017 College Basketball Thread

Notre Dame tried giving away that game. Princeton did very well executing their strategy. Matt Farrell plays too much hero-ball down the stretch and today was the first time it looked like it pissed Brey off. Princeton executed well until they jacked up a 25 footer while down 1. Take it to the rack!
