Could've just gone with Done-sing for the title...

But, anyway, hurrah, our long national nightmare is finally over. (funny, this joke just doesn't work as well anymore)

All the OF's above South Bend are pretty brutal. The guys who had some promise in the past have not lived up to it. The rest of them have a 4th or 5th OF ceiling.

Almora is a fine option to lead off against a lefty.

He should never, ever see a PA against a righty if it can be avoided, though.

Trying to decide which I'm happier about between Hagerty and Davis. Davis is much more meaningful to the future, but Hagerty is an amazing story.

We could have traded for Stanton last year if we weren't going to try to sign Bryce. Yankees got him basically for nothing.

as ssr has pointed out several times, the sad truth is that picking up hamels’ option instead of signing harper makes perfect sense once you realize we also have no money for next season. this organization in no way deserves our attention. As pissy as I feel about this, I took some solace from thinking that Cards fans should be even more pissed than us. - Their team makes almost as much money as the Cubs - They aren't even in the luxury tax - They get extra draft picks anyway, so that doesn't impact them as much - Much of their succes...

Pakistan and India are on the verge of war. This feels like a Cuban Missle Crisis moment, and the lives of billions hang in the balance. Arenado extended 8/260. So much for 2020. I assumed that he wasn't Boras client, and it looks like he dumped him in 2015. Many Cubs fans think this gives us hope of extending Bryant, but is there any history of Boras arbitration-level guys extending instead of hitting free agency? Yes. Strasburg le...

All my favorite recent HR are accounted for.

I'll always hold a special place in my heart for Bob Dernier leading off the 1984 NLCS with a dong, though. Not to mention Sutcliffe hitting one to lead off the third a couple innings later.

I was told that Rodon / Lopez / Giolito / Fulmer were going to destroy AL hitters.

No, really. A white sox fan I know said that to me.

He was being serious.
