Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: Martin Maldonado to Cubs

My disappointment would (so far this is all internet spec and I might be getting miffed for nothing) largely lie in handing the keys to the one of the worst receivers in the league whom hasn't shown much interest in improving his game. Are you talking about Willson Contreras? The converted infielde...

Re: Politics & Current Events

It kind of cracks me up that the one original cabinet member that managed to mostly keep his head down and out of controversy is doofus Rick Perry.

Mostly it just depresses and enrages me, though.

Yeah, the affiliates really should stick to sports, right? I mean, if they start taking political positions, then it might infect sports-related discussions on internet message boards or some damn thing.

Mayor Pete has (statistically) 0% support from the black community. He is screwed. He should run for Senate (a long with most of the field instead of muddying the waters Is he going to run for State senate, because there isn't a US Senate seat in 2020 for IN. The post-Trump rehabilitation of all the GOP enablers is gonna be pure joy to watch. Most #nevertrump'ers are gonna be on that train, opting to pretend Trump was an anomaly rather than a natural outgrowth of modern Conservatism. But the performative lecturing will be fun. They're actually getting a...

Re: Trade targets 2019

I think I'd be pretty happy with Tony Watson. He'd be a lot cheaper than Will Smith and would still be a really solid addition to the pen. He's got bad numbers against lefties in a small sample in 2019, but for his career he's plenty tough against them. Plus - he throws strikes, which is unusual for...

It's weird how this stuff works. Like, it's obvious that everyone involved in making that knew it would be responded to like this; the whole point was to get attention and get people talking about it and Subway. But...how does that then actually translate to being good for the brand/company? Will t...

Re: 2018/19 Blackhawks march to the lottery

Sure saying it was a steal is probably overboard, but it was a good trade Jersey Saying it was a steal would have been overboard. Saying it was a "huge steal" earned the call out, I think. It was a nice trade that improved the second or third line. But it did not address the need for a to...

Re: If your Dr said going vegan would add 15 years to your life...

I've started to think that, outside of extreme cases, it's just genetics. I've known people who smoked a pack a day and drank hard liquor for 60 years and they still made it into their mid 80s while I've known others who were all about exercising and closely monitoring every meal and they drop dead...

Yeah, I might be able to do the "vegan six days a week" plan, but I don't think I could ever go total. I'd have to have a really high belief that I'd literally die if I had another steak.

How does vegan assure my plane won't crash, that I won't break my neck while surfing, contract meningitis or any number of other horsefeathering things?

You can't guarantee that a diet switch will give an extra 25 years.
