Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel

I just want to see a good movie. My general assumption is that most everyone in Hollywood are major douchebags. Did you take such a noble stand against The Pianist ? What Polanski did is worse than anything that we know Gibson has done by a factor of like a thousand. Roman Polanski is a piece of ho...

Re: The Mock Off Season Thread

I wonder how cheaply David Price could be had. In addition to the elbow concerns, he got into it with Eck and the team was not happy with the way Price handled the whole thing. He's also got an opt out after 2018. So, if he does well, you'll only get him for a year. If he sucks, you're stuck with a ...

Re: General Chit-Chat thread

If I'm being charitable, I can see being upset that they included a discreet picture of the server. You don't even have to be charitable. That's ridiculous, to take a random photo that proves absolutely nothing and just say this person did a thing that happens in every bar/brewery in the world. Hey...

Re: Cubs Offseason Rumors

Jesse Rogers' article today saddened me quite a bit. Obviously, Rogers isn't great. But, it still made me think.... His off season expectations seem to be that Schwarber definitely is at the low end of his value and we're not selling low on him. He doesn't think Happ will bring back the young cost ...

Re: BA's Top 10 Cubs Prospects

He didn't make the list, and he shouldn't have, but I'm really bullish on DJ Wilson. The athleticism is obviously there, and the performance was fantastic after he came back from injury. .255/.339/.516 with a 10.0% walk rate and 19.1% k-rate, and he'll still only be 21 next season. Yeah, if that's ...

Wow - seven pitchers. What a change from past years.

I can't believe how early they got this out.

Re: The Mock Off Season Thread

Since we have to pretty much use players off of the ML roster to trade, my thoughts are the easiest to replace would be Schwarber and then Russell. Schwarber is obviously a DH and should have been traded last year when his value was at its highest point. Trading Russell gives the Reds a young, inex...

Re: The Mock Off Season Thread

Honestly, I wouldn't be entirely surprised by Russell getting traded this offseason. He's got enough red flags that they may want to move on. If it happens, I'll trust that the front office has information that leads them to believe that's the right thing to do. Based on the information we currently...

I'm really happy they opened it up in the fourth quarter. There were some very positive signs once the stopped going run-run-pass every time. Mitch definitely has some tools to work with, but he's got a long way to go before he's a finished product. This was a really good learning game for him. Inm...

Hit him in the hands He had to stretch to max extension to get his hands to it, with no defensive presence to force the throw there. Good NFL QBs put that throw two feet further down. he wasnt stretched to "max extension" he was in a dead run and the ball when right between his hands. It ...

Wing it over his head OB, then. Or at his feet. Don't take that sack.

btw - how much easier would this offseason be if we had Verlander on staff already?
