Re: Politics & Current Events

It feels like so many people in this thread have said some variation of this many, many times, and it's never the actually how these things work. Nobody is going to forget about Russia because of this. Russia or no Russia, Trump needed a "easy win" that wouldn't be controversial to most p...

The cynic in me says that this was an easy, low-hanging fruit distraction tweet to turn our focus away from Russia for a bit. Re: "horsefeathers looks like The Thing" - The Kyle Schwarber Thread

I have a few friends who will die on the scouting grade hill with some players, insisting that various players actual stats are secondary to how they've graded out in the minors.

The ACA isn't repealed yet With Vice President Mike Pence casting a tie-breaking vote, Republicans moved forward on health care reform Tuesday as t he Senate successfully passed a key motion to proceed to debate on repealing and possibly replacing Obamacare. Re: Politics & Current Events

So this is the part where they say "Obamacare doesn't go away for 2 years so we have time to craft a replacement" and then 2 years from now they haven't written a word of a replacement, right?

Re: Game of Thrones

I was thinking the Stormlands were just north of King's Landing instead of just south. the stormlands are south of kings landing but not related to this discussion. Jon is traveling from winterfell to white harbor via horse and then white harbor to dragonstone via ship. Dragonstone is not in the st...

Re: Game of Thrones

White Harbor is down the street from Winterfell and then a relatively quick boat trip to Dragonstone/King's Landing. It's a segment of the route that Sam and Maester Aemon took that was horrible and stormy and made everyone wish they were dead. But I'm now bored with this train of thought that I st...

Re: Game of Thrones

Do I want to watch people traveling around? Of course not. That's not the point. It's about making sense of the overall timeline. If it takes Jon two weeks to travel from Winterfell to Dragonstone, then you have to question what Cersei and/or Euron are doing during that time. just because they cut ...

Re: Game of Thrones

Some interesting developments, though the script seemed pretty ham-fisted, especially in the first 15 minutes or so. We've also gone from "it take 4 weeks to travel anywhere" to "everyone teleports where they need to be instantly". I mean, I'm glad to see the story moving forwar...

I honestly rarely carry cash anymore, but I've spent money at a lot of concession stands at a lot of softball tournaments this summer so receiving change has become a thing again

Re: random rants

Dear people who hand me back change after purchasing food or goods,

Hand me my coins first, then the bills, then the receipt. DO NOT balance the coins on the bills like it's some silver platter that will inevitably result in me dropping all the coins out the car window.

Re: Game of Thrones

Weiss and Benioff said that the "That's not you" line to Nymeria was in reference to S1E4, when Ned is explaining to Arya the life she can have as a proper lady, and her response is "That's not me". It's her understanding that the wolf, like herself, can't be tamed
