Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 5-26-18

ODLC goes 7 5 0 0 0 7 with a 6/2 GB/FB ratio..... Since (and including) his start on 4/29: 6 starts, 34 IP, 27 H, 11 R (all earned), 0 HR, 10 BB, 36 K with an ERA of 2.91 and a WHIP of 1.09. His first 4 starts were rough with only one good game among them, but if he can remain consistently good fro...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 5-26-18

Bote with his 7th HR of the year to put the I-Cubs up 2-1. Did the Orioles have scouts in attendance...?

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 5-26-18

De La Cruz just took a line shot off his knee with 1 out in the 4th inning. Hit him flush as it came right back towards home plate. He stayed in the game after being checked out and throwing a few pitches. Strike out and easy ground ball to SS to end the inning.

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 5-25-18

Cory Abbott: Fast Ball: 92-94, T97. FB is often left up inducing a lot of fly balls, some well struck. 3rd inning (in which Abbott struggled with his command) only reported FB velo was at 91. Cutter:87-89 Slider: No velo reports given. You might remember Cory found a new pitch his junior year, and i...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 5-24-18

Swarmer threw 4 pitches in the 7th before coming out of the game. After the 3rd pitch, with his arm down by his side, he lightly shook it like you might if you were experiencing either some numbness or some tightness. He did the same after the 4th pitch. The manager then signaled for the catcher, PJ...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 5-23-18

Brendon Little: Fast Ball - Was a little slower this game, but commanded better. 88-91 (He had hit 92-93 in previous games). He was throwing it for strikes in this game (not over the middle of the plate) and needs to maintain good control of it to set up his curve. The first two hits he allowed (bot...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 5-23-18

I was just telling myself yesterday that Lange needed a game where he got a bunch of strikeouts. The talk about a swing-inducing changeup is the best news of the day. He could be a legit MOR starter if he has both plus secondaries, even if the fastball velo stays in that depressed 90-92 range. I'm ...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 5-23-18

Any velocity updates on recent Lange and Little? Sometimes I get some in April, when it's maybe cold or they haven't really gotten into a groove; but also when they aren't at all tired yet. A couple of months in now with regular rotation, I'm curious what they've got on a good night like this? Lang...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 5-23-18

Little keeps the pattern going of allowing 4 or 5 earned runs in a start followed by not allowing any in the next. Let's hope he breaks that pattern his next time out... Final line: 7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K. Quite the pitcher's duel as 2017 9th rounder Zach Logue also pitched 7 scoreless allowing o...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 5-23-18

Another 5 scoreless innings for Little tonight (that's three starts in a row he's done that). Let's see if he can make it through 6 this time... He did. 6 scoreless, 2 hits, 4 Ks, no walks on just 67 pitches (46 strikes). It would follow form for the Cubs if he's pushed into the 7th as they try to ...

Re: International Free Agency Thread 2018-2019

I like Bote and would like to keep him, but I honestly wonder if the Orioles would really like him? He can play all over the IF (probably some OF too), is cheap and seems like he could be a second division starter for them. They lose Machado this year and Schoop is a FA after next year so they have...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 5-22-18

Nice day for Amaya and Assad who’s been pretty consistently good for about a year now despite non-special stuff. He’s a wait and see how he does at the upper levels guy, but so far so good.
