Re: CDC Info on COVID-19 (Corona virus)

do other seasonal respiratory viruses tend to tick up in the south when it gets oppressively hot and people are more reliant on being indoors/air conditioned? i'm just curious if this pattern is usually a thing that happens (only way worse with this thing) I thought that was an interesting angle, s...

Re: Beer Thread 2.0

I think a big part of the problem is that recipes don't scale up linearly. A good example of this is Oberon. When it was small batch, it was amazing. Then bells ramped up production, and it lost that potent orange flavor, tasting more like a horsefeathers macro brew. It took a while, but it would ap...

Re: CDC Info on COVID-19 (Corona virus)

I hate this virus and I don't understand it. We have been social distancing for a month and a half, and yet deaths seem to have plateau'd, and may even still be increasing based on the latest death total here. I realize that we are relying on flawed data in some way shape or form and that's what's d...

Love the 60 deg and light rain runs. I run hot, so that's perfect for me.

Also, I don't know if this is just me, but I much prefer tracking running pace in minutes per mile. MPH means nothing to me.

Re: The Travel Thread

We take our kids (ages 3 and 6) on a 4-5 day vacation each summer over 4th of July week. Unsurprisingly, the 4th of July events (parades, festivals, etc.) have already been canceled this year in our usual destination, so that plan is looking much less attractive for this year. Assuming that we are ...

Re: CDC Info on COVID-19 (Corona virus)

I hope companies are keeping in mind that many schools have been moved to at-home learning for the rest of the year. As such, they cannot expect workers to come back to offices/warehouses/restaurants/etc. if they have small kids at home. Daycare centers aren't open, and good luck finding (or afford...

Re: CDC Info on COVID-19 (Corona virus)

Has anyone had an explanation for the lost sense of smell and sometimes taste in patients? That seems random but it’s showing up right behind fever and shortness of breath as an early symptom. I'm guessing it's a sinus thing. Whenever I have sinus issues it's often accompanied by a temporary loss o...

I do all the cooking in my family since I get home first and my wife picks the kids up from daycare. I’ve probably made around 50k orders of poached eggs with hollandaise in my life. The warm water/vinegar bath for holding poached eggs is legit the best way to plate them fast.
