Re: Politics & Current Events

The actual distance is less the farther north or south of the equator, but it still takes 24 hours for a complete rotation. The longer period of daylight is because the terminator is so far south of the North Pole (the Arctic circle) on the side of the Earth that is opposite the sun during the summ...

Google “sun path diagrams” for different Cities. Do Miami and Seattle. They are about the biggest difference to look at in the lower 48. Miami is the furthest south, Seattle the furthest north in the lower 48.

Do same day, same time. Pick any time of the year.

You’ll find a noticeable difference

Re: Politics & Current Events

Hmm. I was thinking of the path of the Sun at noon. I'm an idiot. But unless I'm doubly an idiot, the further North you go, the further South the Sun will appear. Except the further north you are, the smaller the circumference of the planet. Thats why northern countries have longer hours of dayligh...

Old white male nerd realizes other old white male nerds are conservative. While I agree that oldness, whiteness, and maleness are all contributing factors to conservatism, I would argue that nerdiness likely has an inverse relationship to conservatism. It's not always enough to offset all the old w...

Why do any of you give this much of a horsefeathers about The Lincoln Project? Do they actually matter? I’m honestly confused about it. Someone enlighten me. Re: Dogs Are Awesome, Yay Dogs!

It started probably 2 weeks before the 4th. doesn't sound like fireworks were the impetus. The way we worked it out of Hiro was to generally ignore it. If the puppy/young dog sees you reacting to their displayed fear, it reinforces their ideas that there is something to actually fear. That can be t...

I think your sense of the pool of people who watch those shows/channels is bigger then the pool itself really is If that's the case, then why would anyone bother running political ads on them? Trump is hardly the first campaign to do so. Plus we keep hearing people fall back on ye olde, "well,...

Re: Dogs Are Awesome, Yay Dogs!

I'll start by saying I have had dogs for nearly all of my 46 years on this flat planet. I have never seen this before. As I previously posted on April 1, we adopted a dog. She's roughly 18 months old now. When we first got her, she was so happy to go outside and would sprint around the yard, often ...

Ohhh horsefeathers off everyone. Some poor soul died while protesting and that is horsefeathering horrible.
