lol I think I called the METEORIC rise of Yang pretty well way back then. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Yang Initially considered a longshot, Yang's campaign gained significant momentum in February 2019 following an appearance on the popular podcast The Joe Rogan Experience. he's polling at ...

Re: Politics & Current Events

My point is that the polling on her constituents will likely move quite a bit in the next 11 months. ... It's almost as if that's why polling isn't a static process. I mean, it's MILDLY important to try and gather data that might provide insight as to how a Democrat in a red state will lean or vote...

Re: Politics & Current Events

All polling at this point (from the primaries on down) is dumb and unhelpful. This is demonstrably and hilariously untrue. How is polling on November congressional races in any way useful or relevant in December? It's the equivalent of the dumb baseball projections that people here go on and on abo...

Warren and Sanders are far left of him. I don't really think the rest of the field is all that far left. After all, Biden, Bloomberg, Steyer, Bullock, Bennet, Patrick are/were all in the same general lane. Klobuchar & Booker aren't that far left of him, either. So I'm not really sure it's fair ...

An annoyingly high percentage of the Democratic base. Not a majority, but enough to make things stupid from here on out. I'm still confused; what does Harris' "restoring her reputation" after she ran a godawful campaign and ran away without any kind of a plan from her own political/justic...

yup. I have a friend who is a Bernie Bro and is pissed that she left, saying she could have siphoned more votes from the Biden/Warren/Buttgieg group, right down to the end, allowing Bernie and Tulsi to win . Which is bonkers because she had, like, no support to begin with. Bernie AND Tulsi? Like, a...

Not that today's hearings are going to move any needles, but things went pretty well, imo. I think the Dems came off as reasonable and made good arguments, the witnesses were pretty strong, and the Republicans were often completely bonkers. Re: Phillies Sign Wheeler

that story comes out with every signing. It's a win/win/win from a PR standpoint. Player looks like good guy because he took less to go where he wants to be. Winning team looks good because they were an attractive job without being highest bidder. Losing team looks good because they gave it the old...

Even by the standards of the Roku/Crackle channels, it's a pretty bleak lineup.

Well, it has a few pretty big 80s hits/classics.

Plex is the absolute best thing. Media library, podcast setup, over-the-air dvr. Just aces.

Re: 2019-20 Offseason Rumors/General Chit-Chat

You can definitely model it, and to a certain degree (in the value sense) a run is a run. However, we've seen the consequences of a team that has imbalances in building the roster this way, you get uneven performances, underperform pythag, etc. Given the outward messaging being around balance when ...

Re: 2019-20 Offseason Rumors/General Chit-Chat

Yup. The sum of the parts could be quite ugly, I think you could still make a Schwarbs/Heyward/Nick OF work to the point of it not killing you but we’d have to bring in a Billy Hamilton type to throw in to CF like every game we got a lead in the 6/7 innings and we’d also have to get back to shiftin...

For all the talk of how bad his defense is, can anyone remember games/moments where the Cubs were really hurt by it? I know that there were balls he didn't get to that other OF's may have, but I don't recall embarrassing levels of play from him For me it's less about Nick's defense, which I think i...

If Russell wasn't a person of color, you would have managed to not be wildly wrong.
