Re: Westworld

I don't hate this season at all. My problem is (and this is a me problem, not a show problem) that once they revealed that we were watching multiple timelines last season, I now no longer trust any scene with Delores or Bernard as being in the time we think it is. My current working theory is: None...

Re: Westworld

But yeah, as for the finale, it really dove deep into determinism, which is totally my jam. Apart from some plot points being tied up fairly messily, it was a better finale than I was expecting.

Re: Westworld

They've already greenlit season 3, so......yeah How you aren't curious about the following: What the real world looks like/is How long/to what extent/why William has been in a loop How the show will continue to examine human vs. digital virtues and morality Is mystifying. Plus, the show constantly ...

That blew me away. It has been a sig mainstay for me ever since.

And in that vein, "Sully loves Sublime so much he'll leave the site when they are attacked" was fun.

Re: Westworld

That episode screams "season 3 coming soon," especially if you stuck around past the credits that rolled after the false ending. Hah can you imagine anyone turning the show off before codex ended? My goodness I watched through the post-credit scene. I just felt like they were epilogue-ing...

Re: Westworld

So, had a theory about Elsie that I was rooting for, and for about 40 seconds I was pretty sure it was going to happen, but it did not. It isn't really a spoiler but since the finale was so recent I'll be safe. So, I still stand by the statement that episode 4 was the best of the series. Its worth r...

Update on my upcoming Hawaii vacation. I was air bnb booked to spend a week in Vacationland. I asked for a refund when lava cut off the last remaining route to the neighborhood. I'm glad I asked when I did, because 30 hours later the entire neighborhood was a lava field, and asking for a refund from...

1) I even enjoy the terrible ABs. It's entertaining in the same way Pro-Am tournaments are. But...they don't let the amateurs play in majors... If you wanna see pitchers hit dingers, let them have a some kind of hitting competition during the all star break or something. ...they absolutely let amat...

This was said during Saturday's Cardinals radio broadcast. Nevermind that their patron saint is the all-time leader. https://twitter.com/BlogOfTheirOwn/status/1008191872953507840 It’s clearly affecting him as he’s on pace for a 4.8 WAR season. It seems like this convo about players/USGA happens every 3-4 years. Anyone remember Chambers Bay? How long and brutal/horsefeathers conditions it was in? Every player complained about that course afterwards. Hell, I remember some US Opens where +5 was the winning score. Put me in the camp that hav...

I would totally punch Corey Lewandowski in the face if I saw him in public. What a douchebag...

I would prefer choking him unconconsious and giving him the ol "womp womp" just before he passed out.

He asked that question because he disgraced the game. I'm trying to think of a baseball parallel, and the best I can come up with is a pitcher starting his delivery to the plate without having his foot on the rubber, and then pretending like he just felt like dancing to try and avoid a balk...but i...

I don't really follow golf: are people overreacting? The clubhouse interview with Mickelson seemed ridiculous... the guy was effectively asking him if he thought he'd disgraced the game. Is that normal behavior? He asked that question because he disgraced the game. I'm trying to think of a baseball...

Re: Golf thread

This Phil Mickelson controversy is quite something. The USGA really dropped the ball from what it appears. Nope, they got it exactly right. The rule people wanted them to use to DQ him explicitly states that if any other rule covers the violation, it takes precedence. In this case, hitting a moving...
