Re: General Cubs Chit-Chat

I wonder if his mom has fired up youtube and watched it yet. Damn it I sort of remember what this is a reference to but don't I think maybe last spring there was an article about Russell and his family and how his mom was still working like three jobs, and while he was hitting that grand slam she w...

Re: TV thread

I just finally got through Punisher a week or so ago. It was a good show...and Bernthal was great. Something about the whole thing didn't quite hit 100% for me...I can't quite put my finger on it...but the story was very good and the cast was excellent. You never finished Luke Cage, Mojo? The final...

What the horsefeathers is wrong with the blue shell??? Apart from making winning a bad thing, absolutely nothing. And that doesn't go for all power-ups? Red shells punish being ahead as well. So does the likelihood of getting nothing but useless junk while sitting in first. On the flip side, get a ...

Yes, those two sports are completely analogous. Good call

Re: Music Thread 2.0

Compared to the guys in the Wrecking Crew? The Funk Brothers? The amazing players in Jones' orchestras? THOSE are the kinds of musicians that Jones relied on throughout his career, so of course McCartney's playing is going to come across as pretty damn amateurish to someone like Jones. That's not t...

I think you mean Dempster impersonating Will Farrell impersonating Harry. I'm convinced Dempster has never heard Harry speak first hand.

I haven't had a re-watch of The Sopranos in a long time. But I have so many shows that I either want to start or need to catch up on. It's impossible to keep up. I might just start The Sopranos up anyway. Nothing will top it, in my book. https://i.pinimg.com/600x315/a0/14/b8/a014b89db8093de8297d8b1...

It's going to be 80 here today and I just saw my first mosquito of the year. Spring is on its way Yankees. We still have to wait like 2.5 months for anything resembling Spring consistently over here On Sunday Denver reached a high of 70. Today there is about 4 inches of snow on the ground and a low...

i was reading this random baseball book the other night and this error was so bad it makes me question accuracy of information contained in every book ever. https://i.imgur.com/Lpegd11.jpg Well, to be fair, this hasn't happened yet in our off-shoot of the time paradox. Re: Politics & Current Events

Pennsylvania's new congressional map is a pretty big deal. The previous map gave Republicans a lock on 13/18 seats against vote totals that would indicate a 9/9 split most years. The new map follows logical demographic and geographic boundaries and lends itself to a 9/9 split in close years. That's...

I know generally speaking batting order doesn't overly matter... but if we are going to assume Schwarber/Bryant/Rizzo top 3 most of the time vs RHP do you guys think the pitcher batting 8th will get any thought to get that "extra leadoff guy" in front of those 3? We completely went away f...

Re: NL Central Also-Rans: Reds, Brewers, Pirates

The depth thing is just beyond silly and I see it all the time. Three of Happ/Almora/Zobrist/Baez/Schwarber/LaStella comes off the bench everyday and each is good enough to start for most teams. Its almost like these yahoos are docking the Cubs for not having figured out a way to have 10 players in ...

I skimmed the indictment of the Russians just now. Definitely have to go back and read it in full. It is in no way a smoking gun against Trump or the Trump Campaign...but it isn't a good look for Republicans, and for as much info as they have on that operation, it makes me pretty hopeful that if the...
