Re: General Other Sports Chit-Chat Thread

here's my UFC deal * the fans do suck. it's true of every sport but especially ufc * the fighters are all getting brain damage and by and large are awful people however, the appeal of watching two dudes face off with an ass-whipping on the line is too much to pass up. I know it's bad but if there's...

Re: General Other Sports Chit-Chat Thread

I can tell that most everyone here writes off MMA/UFC as redneck fodder, and they might be right, but I can't help myself. I went to my first UFC fight which was here in Denver and it was pretty great and cool and stuff. It ended with possibly the coolest KO ever with 1 second left in a 5 round figh...

Re: Politics & Current Events

I think the Dems are fairly strong favorites to win the Senate in 2022...at least as strong as a favorite can be 4 years into the future.

Sure. I also think that Machado would be an excellent super sub. A billionaire's Jose Hernandez.

https://twitter.com/KTLincoln/status/1060569979412602880 Pretty cool article on machine learning and AI. It's really depressing that humans can no longer beat AI at chess, but at least we still reign supreme in StarCraft (the most demanding game mentally right now). Not that it really changes the p...

Where is that coming from? How would they know the race of the people who voted for particular candidates?

we're all aware of your wrong opinion of how opt-outs work, you don't need to bring it up every time it's mentioned Wonder who Jason Heyward is signing with this off-season. Yeah that’s not the point though. Players who already have leverage (due to age positional scarcity or whatever) will always ...

*Strategy session for America's top generals and admirals for the War in the Pacific during WWII* Do we still have control of Midway? Yes, but we lost a few other smaller islands nearby. 2020 Democratic Senate likely went bye bye.

Yeah, 2020 looks safe for Dems to not lose seats (Gardner in CO is a goner) but 5 looks insurmountable. Lame stuff.

Texas could be a whole lot bluer tomorrow. Imagine if that holds in 2 years. Beto is awesome and Cruz is a total loser. NATHANIEL RAKICH8:27 PM You may have noticed that our real-time forecast has moved toward Republicans in the House. It’s being too aggressive, in my opinion. For all the anti-HRC anecdotes out there, I can also contribute plenty of pro-HRC examples; plenty of women I know or know of who were deeply activated by the desire to elect the nation's first woman president. The structural disadvantages for an 8 year incumbent party were simply too much to overc...
