Re: Theo's Presser

While no one doubts his range and overall fielding, there were some serious issues with Russell's arm strength and accuracy this past season. He was like 2nd in DRS at SS in all of MLB even with his missed games, unless he has some degenerative issue in his shoulder/arm he’s the SS of the next deca...

Haha. Ok guys. See you later. You guys don’t know me at all. Yeah I don’t jerk off to baseball prospectus. Hey I have a demanding day job. . But I can assure you I’m not a meatball. In fact, I’m pretty sure I’m way more successful than all you guys. And smarter. Because I wouldn’t go calling people...

Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

Another L, Markkonen played fairly well again, getting a double double. Holliday conceivably could bring us something at the deadline. They had me worried with how they were hanging in in the first half The second team is horrific currently. They're not going to be in any danger of running into win...

Re: Theo's Presser

If you include Baez in that group(even though his odds of getting dealt are near nil), then it's him. After that, it's probably very situational depending on a team's evaluation and their needs. There's arguments to be made for Schwarber, Almora, and Happ. Would arguments for Russell be lower than ...

Re: John Mallee

John Fox was fired after Denver lost in the Super Bowl. This seems like a...questionable example to end with. Especially since it's not true. Well, not immediately following a loss in the SB, which is the only way that would be an interesting tidbit because I'm pretty sure coaches who have lost in ...

Re: Chris Bosio Fired

anyone know when the FO suggested Bosio would return or is he just making stuff up?

if it's based on Theo saying it was up to Joe what coaches returned? because that's not that.

Turns out Otani hates him so much that he's willing to sacrifice potentially over a hundred million dollars to get away from him. We lose.

Re: Most likely to be traded?

I think Happ is most likely. I think in the end nobody gets traded and that would be my bet. I think they like (rightfully so) all of Schwarbs, Javy, Almora and Russell (Russell is nearly untouchable to me) too much that they wouldn’t be moved for anything less than a Archer, DeGrom or Stroman leve...

Re: Chris Bosio Fired

I don’t have any stats to back this up, but outside of Davis (who has always had great secondary stuff), had Bosio developed any great secondary pitches with the pen? Montgomery might be the exception, but everyone else’s secondary pitches just seem to be average. And when you don’t trust them, you...

Re: Chris Bosio Fired

These were Theo's comments on Bernstein and Goff a few days ago (before Game 5) that had me suspecting this might be a possibility. “We need to take ownership of that,” Epstein said on the Bernstein and Goff Show specifically of Wilson’s struggles before turning his attention to the issue at large. ...

Re: Bob Nightengale: Chris Bosio Fired

I'm honestly not sure how much affect hitting and pitching coaches have. I think having good organizational approaches is important. And it's obviously better to have a pitching coach who is more knowledgeable. But all of that work is done behind the scenes, so it's hard for us to know exactly how ...

Re: John Mallee

- they are an inconsistent offense. They strike out a lot. Despite winning a WS they went into extended hitting droughts in all 3 playoff years. It's like you don't know how playoff baseball works. The Indians last year went 2, 2, 4, 1, 3 in the ALCS and 6, 1, 1, 7, 2, 3 in the WS before Game 7. So...
