Re: Week 11: John Fox*s Bears vs Detroit Sunday noon on Fox

Just for fun, Trestman and Fox have combined to go 25-49 in 4.5 years. Lovie didn’t lose his 49th game until his 8th season (64-49). Not implying really anything, just pointing out how incredibly bad we’ve been. Lovie (autotranslates to livid) was good but left a lot to be desired and the bears wer...

Re: Week 11: John Fox*s Bears vs Detroit Sunday noon on Fox

The thing about Trubisky that I liked coming out of college was his accuracy and that has not been there so far. I want to see him with a new coach and with weapons but I'd be lying if I wasn't concerned with him. The scramble was awesome though. I have a lot of concerns about mitch and at the same...

Re: Week 11: John Fox*s Bears vs Detroit Sunday noon on Fox

It's really somewhat amazing how good this team is at losing. Blowout losses. Close losses. Comeback losses. Predicable losses. Unexpected losses.

It takes all kinds.

It doesn’t matter if Kaepernick is the second coming of Dan Marino...no one is signing him. The way the anthem nonsense blew up, and how a) Goodell didn’t mitigate it and b) Trump dumped gasoline on it, the backlash of that signing isn’t worth the headache Oh geez Am I wrong? Re: Corporate grab ass shenanigans, and so much worse

So, not to be team Sulley here, but shouldn’t the punishment fit the crime? I know using the Moore situation is at best a questionable way to go, but hear me out. Franken’s actions to me are akin to getting pulled over for speeding with a BAC of .08. Yeah, you’re wrong and there should be consequen...

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel

Finally got around to seeing Get Out this weekend. I'm stealing this sentiment from reading up afterwards, but it has some of the fewest throwaway/filler scenes of any movie I've seen. Everything had a very relevant and specific purpose, so well done. it was kind of distracting though that they cas...

Re: The Mock Off Season Thread

Meanwhile Hendry still has a top job in baseball and all of us "smart guys" are still posting here on NSBB. LOL there's a plethora of goobers working in various special assistant roles across the league. And maybe he'll get a job with Derek Jeter's bumbling Marlins, but that doesn't negat...

gun owners are just so stupid.

simply owning a gun greatly increases your chances of being shot, but each and every one of these morons thinks they are somehow too smart to have something bad happen to them or their loved ones via their own weapon.

I don't think so simply because he's not looked at as an ace. He's a great #3 and pitches like a #1 or #2 much of the time, but still doesn't have that "name" factor. He's 19th in pitching fWAR over the last 2 seasons despite missing 6 weeks this year, won the ERA title and finished 2nd i...

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel

Well, no, because Inglourious Basterds exists (yes, it's still a WW2 movie) and is better than both of those, but I can also only think of, like, 3 other American WW2 movies in that timeframe besides the ones already mentioned. Inglorious Basterds isn't really a WWII movie in the traditional sense....

It's very Trumpian (or at least very Tim Tebow-ian); most of the money he himself generates will come from the insane diehards who have glommed onto him no matter what because of his extremist views. You can probably chalk up close to a good $100 million of HR's take to that audience, which, in a l...

I find it really difficult to be outraged about accusations like the ones against Al Franken. Unless a real pattern of behavior can be established, it really does just sound like poor judgment and bad taste on his part. Everyone makes mistakes, but now it seems like even the most minor mistake 15 y...

Ok, so I finished that movie I started drunkenly watching last night. It’s a Dutch movie called Brimstone. It’s on Showtime. I guess it’s a good movie... Although I’m not really sure what to think of it except that it’s easily the most savage Western I’ve ever seen. It’s definitely not for everyone...
