Re: CDC Info on COVID-19 (Corona virus)

Not reopening schools is by far the most severe step we've taken so far, even beyond shutting down the economy. It would have disastrous, permanent negative effect on an entire generation's mental health and academic development, and the health effects wouldn't be great either. I'm really worried a...

Re: Politics & Current Events

I suspect it also matters if you had access to just the taxes or all of the supporting documents. The actual IRS forms likely provide way less value than the underlying docs to support them.

Re: NFL Offseason

The rumors are it’s going to approach $500 mil and they’ll tie it to him getting a % of the cap (I’ve seen 16-18%) so he gets the team/league revenue benefit, why is it dumb to not lock that in? The downside is appreciably higher, imo, going short term and risking injury or whatever and costing you...

Holy horsefeathers Mahomes is signing a 10 year deal. I didn’t even know that was allowed in the NFL. That seems likely dumb on his part, but we'll see. Re: NFL Offseason

If the Blackhawks change, I'd assume they'd just drop the "Black" and just become the Chicago Hawks and adapt a bird logo. This one was making the rounds a few years ago that was pretty cool: https://thehockeynews.com/wp-content/uploads/Chicago-Blackhawks-Mike-Ivall-logo.jpg Its a cool co...

What bizarre horsefeathers up world do we live in that it's easier to get fired for a photo that's in awful taste than the [expletive] who actually murder people. (don't take this as saying they shouldn't have been fired for the photo, don't @ me).

I just mean that I expect the entire US to have taken their turn before July 2021. The northeast already has, as did Chicago. The south and southwest, including California, are starting theirs now. I don't think containment is possible at this point. We are gonna find out how far the maximum potent...

Re: Politics & Current Events

Or take it this way (my own hot take). For the Lincoln Project to be successful at this presumptive GOP takeover, or whatever it is, the GOP needs to be obliterated. You'll need to see some crazy stuff like McConnel or Graham falling and a solid 4+ Dem senate lead (which would be like a +8 cycle, fo...

The average voter on either side is still mostly reached by TV. So far TLP is taking the path trod trod by Russian hackers and the like; for all of the hooplah over social media shenanigans in trying to sway elections, it's an outlet that is still dwarfed by TV. And the only thing stopping TLP from...
