Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

Looks like the Knicks can't take on Parson. But, I never underestimate their ability to make dumb trades so maybe they'll find a third team and give up everything else of value they have to make it happen.

Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

This might be anti-big-man bias, but I'm struggling to see a best case scenario for Bamba where he's better than the 3rd best player on a championship caliber team. Like Spongeworthy, when you get the chance to draft this high I think you need to spend it on a guy who could be Option A or B on a ti...

Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

The issue is this: Bamba, who I love, or Porter, who I'd be perfectly happy with, could be there at 7. In fact, I figure one of them will be. So, do you trade up anyway? I don't think so. Taking on 2 years of Chandler Parsons at 25 mill each season? No. Just no. Especially not if you ALSO are sendi...

Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

I really want Memphis' pick Who do you want. I by no means follow the draft as closely these days, but had kind of resigned myself to one of Bamba, MPJ, or Young being there at 7 and each offering a similar boom/bust profile (granted all in uniquely different ways). It seems possible a trade up to ...

Anthony Bourdain killed himself :( What horsefeathers news to wake up to. I passed the old Les Halles restaurant on Park Avenue the other day. Damn. That's pretty sad. Suicide is a growing problem in this country and many Western countries. It horsefeathering sucks and when a celebrity does that it...

Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

I don't even think you can complain about being cheap here, just plain dumb. Like there is zero chance the 10,000 was the determining factor, but I think a genuine arrogance that it wasn't worth it to attend.

Re: 2017-2018 NBA Season

Someone explain why this dude is all hung up on PER. That, WS or BPM (and VORP way behind, I guess) all seem like ways to try and cumulatively judge one player's overall value vs. another, and LeBron tops Jordan in all of those except for PER, where Jordan JUST edges him out. Win shares can be base...

Meh. It's the All Star team, not the All-VORP team. Stars drive in runs and hit dongs.

Re: National Fascism League

Obviously it's an idiotic rule. If a player faces the other way or holds up a USA flag upside down, can there be a fine? The rule states that players are required not only to stand, but also to "show respect" during the anthem. The language is purposefully vague. The whole thing is such a...

Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

If the Bulls are confident in Porter's health and worry about him not making it to 7, swapping 4 and 7 seems possible. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2776700-2018-nba-draft-rumors-grizzlies-open-to-trading-no-4-overall-pick I don't know enough about the NBA draft pick values to know what they ...

Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

Any chance the Bulls package both picks and get into the top 4? Would that even matter? I really like the idea of Porter. Obviously, his back has to check out. Usually 19 year olds with back problems don't end well, but I like his fit for the Bulls moreso than any other player that's going to go ou...

The Italian beef pizza is fantastic. I mean it's basically a beef sammich where you replaced the Italian loaf with pizza crust and added marinara sauce, so it's not that crazy.

Re: Food Monstrosities

The more I think about it, the more I think I just don't usually enjoy ravioli, and I think it's because I'm expecting cheese in there. I'd rather go with its cousin the pirogi. Theres this place in the South loop that is kind of a polish/Italian mashup menu and they have a dish called ravirogi. Ba...

Not quite. Its usually meat inside, like you would expect in a ravioli.

Fried ravioli would definitely be a more accurate description.

It's pretty decent hors d'oeuvres fair.

The racist Trump supporter will forever be energized by him. They don't need a black woman to drive them to the polls to stop all the Mexicans and Muslims from taking over their country. That said, theres more than one way to go about this. Miami (first chanouonship) and Boston are two examples of teams turning a bunch of very good but not great assets into trade fodder and a NBA championship (they both also had a mid-lotto cornerstone, let's just call Lauri that and assume he conti...

Re: 2017-18 Bulls Thread - Fly the Tank W

Porter or bust, I'd hate to see a low ceiling/high floor pick here at 7. I like Porter, but we need to be careful about drafting players with back issues. I'm sure the Bulls will do a full physical and MRI on him. I want to avoid drafting a player who is chronically injured. Porter has a high ceili...
