Re: The Terrible Umpires Thread

If they add the rule about pitchers needing to step off to pickoff runners, all those runners are gonna have an extra half-step on their leads to make up for geared up catchers. Net neutral on the running game, the strike zone is more accurate, and we give the LHP balk pickoff moves the fiery death...

Re: It's Maddoning

I'd guarantee Maddon hates red assed Hurdle. One enjoys his glass of wine, the other is busy shotgunning Milwaukees Best This is hate speech. I am an avid wine drinker and also an imbiber of mass quantities of cheap beer. #LoveIsLove Seriously, you can do both. Why do you hate fun? But Hurdle is a ...

He has benefitted greatly from the pill enhanced ball (PEB). So many warning track fly balls the last couple of years. Going out this year!

https://twitter.com/MLByahoosports/status/1143939307675115526 I’ll always remember seeing the headline in the newspaper of “McClendon steals first base” and thinking who the horsefeathers is McClendon and how did he steal first. Re: General Cubs Chit-Chat

Is it me or does Joe seem very reluctant to pitch Chatwood? It seems he has earned a bit more trust This is far from a fully formed thought, but it seems like with Montgomery essentially piggybacking with Darvish for now, Chatwood is by default the long man, and needs to be saved for those situatio...

Unpopular Opinion (or not, I dunno): The way this team is playing validates Theo's perceived inactivity this offseason. I really think this team is this good and now (hopefully) has the flexibility to add at the deadline or pick up Kimbrell after the draft. yeah sure fine I still wanted more dammit...

I'm here for the punishment. Chatwood, Heyward and Maples are all basically fixed (not perfect) and will be good contributors from here on out as the Cubs win the Central and the Series this year. Maples ain’t but I’m buying low on the other guys I bought low on Heyward 2 years ago. That, uh, didn’...

I would say this is accurate on both (both that Pablo Sandoval had a merely but clearly good career and that that is Jr's floor.)

More evidence that Joe Maddon sucks: https://www.bleachernation.com/2019/04/28/wow-vets-came-to-joe-maddon-to-insist-that-david-bote-start-today/ This is all about Zobrist wanting to see Bote get a chance over Russell. I've heard Zobrist is not at all happy that Russell has been welcomed back.

Tell that to Maddon when he takes him out late in the game for defensive reasons.
