Re: Astros stole signs electronically in 2017

I'm surprised former players are admitting it now. I don't know if MLB can retroactively punish the Astros for this because I'm not sure if electronic sign-stealing was prohibited in 2017? I hope they get punished for this. . I’m sure they can punish them now, but it’s too hard to do anything about...

Re: "Time makes fools of us all" - The Kyle Schwarber Thread

Kyle struck out a lot less in the second half, and I think that accounts for the change. How do you account for the fewer K's? I think reputation. Early in the year, Kyle got rung up on a lot of balls out of the zone. As umpires got feedback on their varied degrees of awfulness, I think they learned...

Re: General Cubs Chit-Chat

I won't say that I'm not disappointed in how the last two seasons played out, but I do want to take a step back (I know we've done that many times) and appreciate. I just took this sporcle quiz . It's out of date, but if you update it through this season, Among Cubs All-Time HR leaders, Jason Heywar...

As good as Jack Flaherty is, Dakota Hudson has been just nearly as effective. Hudson has a 0.9 fWAR. But is 15-6 for a reason. Generates the weakest contact in baseball. Fangraphs needs to figure out how to quantify that in their WAR calc. Both young cornerstones of the rotation. In less than two y...

Re: No Tomorrow for Morrow

I liked it back then because I still trusted that the FO knew what they were doing when making FA signings, so the red flags didn’t bother me as much. Yeah, I basically completely ignored his usage by the Dodgers in the playoffs, especially from the perspective of his relatively stress free half de...

What a weird reply. More replying to the guy you were replying to. And in general agreement to the idea that it’s not unreasonable to think that someone (anyone) coming off the IL may have some residual issues. That may manifest itself in lost velocity, lack of control, or decreased use of the pitc...
