Re: Baez impresses Baez

I still think Baez is a serious candidate for a trade this winter. That'd be effing stupid. I'd prefer we not trade a guy with a damn near historic glove that can hit 25-30 HR. Schwarber seems to be the obvious trade bait. He needs to go be a DH somewhere. Schwarber's value has never been higher. B...

Me too. So much is said about Theo (and rightfully so!!). But this is the man that got the man that got these great players.

I propose a giant gold statue of his likeness be erected in grant park!

Kinda like this.

The Thing is a DH. I think yesterday’s error punctuated the need for him to be moved sooner rather than later. Happ becomes the everyday LF next year. nah, it was a bad play, but nothing worse than some other "great" left fielders have made. He'll be a DH on the downhill side of his caree...

Re: Playoff Roster?

Dusty put 4 lefty relievers on the Nats roster, which is pretty smart considering 4 of the 5 games will likely be started by RHP and the Cubs will probably load the lineup with lefties in those games and then have to replace them later in the game. The thing is though that the Cubs have plenty of q...

Re: How many teams in each league should make the playoffs?

My slight tweak, which really isn't different enough to warrant changing: Two divisions in each league, 1st place in your division gets you into the divisional series, 2nd and 3rd place in each division play a one-game playoff to make the divisional series. The divisional series are always played a...

Obviously not a trade, but evidently an interesting option for the off-season.

you know who else throws 96? Justin Wilson just did

It would be nice if he wasn't a crap bag during the playoffs.

Re: General Cubs Chit-Chat

I'd be somewhat surprised but happy if it indeed happens. I just don't see him fitting. He's sure as hell not gonna start, and with his first inning woes he's not cut out for the bullpen either. At some point you have to seriously consider that Lackey is a better option than Lester as a postseason ...

You do t want them to get too used to him; you have to mix it up.

The randomness of every game in baseball clinches this for me.

A difference of .16 degrees on a batted ball is a difference of a foot down the line making a ball fair or foul.

If he waits two years, he gets to be a free agent right when he comes over. If he comes now unless there is some rule skirting going on, he doesn't get to be a free agent for six years. He gets the big money way earlier by waiting. He wouldn't even be to his arbitration years if he came now when he...

Spent way too much time looking at GIS of low clutch. Learned a great deal about using a low profile clutch when modifying a car with an oversized carburetor.
