Re: Is Szczur Gone & 40-Man Roster Discussion

Andreoli is cannon fodder, it's Zagunis who takes up Szczur's mantle as a RH reserve OF Why put Zagunis on the 40 man before you have to? You have 4 quality outfielders on the major league team and a Javy Baez that can push 2 more there. The 5th outfielder, Iowa shuttle guy is supposed to be someon...

Re: Is Szczur Gone & 40-Man Roster Discussion

Dude, you make fun of yourself in the game threads, knowing you say irrational stuff. Its expected. The shock of you not doing that is no different than Andreoli taking Szczur's spot, in my mind. Actually I think its pretty likely Andreoli takes Szczur's spot. if szczur doesn't make the team (prob ...

May as well have been a Cubs game because I was sitting with many thousands of dejected looking people wearing Cubs gear.

Re: Most Memorable Cubs Games You've Attended

I rarely get to see the Cubs apart from once a year in Coors field, so these two are the ones that stand out: Sosa hit 3 3-run HRs in back to back to back innings, and then Dusty killed all the fun by pulling him from the game for no reason at all: http://a.espncdn.com/mlb/news/2002/0810/1416636.ht...

Re: Most Memorable Cubs Games You've Attended

I can't find any record of this online, but some time before 2010, the Cubs had 10 consecutive hits in wrigley. They announced over the pa that it tied a major league record. In 2010 the Rockies broke that record with 11. can you narrow down the range beyond "before 2010?" I had a baby in...

I'll go out on a limb and say it was definitely the best NLCS game 6 in Wrigley history.

Thanks for the memories. No ill will against Dex for getting paid. Hard to feel sorry for him when he's getting paid and got to win a world series with Cubs. Re: I like Gold Gloves and I cannot lie: the Jason Heyward thread

I don't really have anything against Tim Tebow the person, he seems like a good enough dude. But I don't want to hear anything about him and baseball. He hit .194/.296/.242 in the Arizona Fall League, he wasn't even committing full time to it with football commentary commitments, and he turns 30 th...

Re: I like Gold Gloves and I cannot lie: the Jason Heyward thread

I would not like Tebow to have any kind of success....certainly not 18 HR's worth of it. I'm confused by this stance. Is it because: 1) You don't want the Mets to have an additional asset. - meh, I'm not really threatened by the Mets, but I can see not wanting good things for other teams. 2) Not wa...

Re: Cubs Predictions for 2017

Just noticed this comment in an article about how the Yankees should emulate the Cubs...nothing earth shattering, but yeah. The Cubs’ brilliant president of baseball operations, Theo Epstein, told me last October that he thought the need for 650 plate appearances is passé, and that getting 500-ish ...
