Re: Addison Russell

Should have just ditched him when they had the chance. Did the window to dump him close and no one told me? Sort of. They could have dumped him right after the suspension. They could have just not offered him a new contract. They didn't do either of those things. They could still trade him if they ...

Re: Do you think Harper will sign with the Cubs this offseason?

I'd lean no if I had to guess, but I think we're very much in it. For me, since the Yu signing last off-season, I kinda figured some money would need to be moved around to make Harper work. Now, I didn't expect the reports to be so dire, but I think a lot of people overestimate the difficulty in cl...

Seems like it could be great or awful. The premise sounds fun but it would run out of material pretty quickly.

Fair enough. But Parks & Recs took longer to hit its stride and use its characters to their fullest potential.

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel

Speaking of reboots, I just watched Raiders of the Lost Ark for the first time in a maybe 10 years. I found myself imagining Chris Pratt as Indie and realized that he would be able to pull it off. I thereby recant my earlier opposition from however many pages back.

Just started watching Brooklyn Nine Nine. I think it gets off to a better start than some of the other Fremulon shows so I'm looking forward to how good it will get as the characters develop further.

No, I saw somewhere that players are not allowed at any team functions while on suspension.

Australia looks a lot like America with the green signs and the shield type route number thing. Change the exit distance from Km to m and it would look basically the same.

Re: Round 1: Eagles at Bears Sunday 3:40 on NBC

Never mind what happened happened Sunday, they can't bring Parkey back. It's not like he was great all year or even good and they don't want to make him a scapegoat, he was pretty consistently bad when it mattered most. As for Sunday, the defense shouldn't let the game come down to a field goal but ...

My son is 10 which is pretty much the apex of Lego interest. We're running out of room for the stuff we've built. We started watching Star Wars Resistance and got the idea to build the new ships from that series. Now we've pretty much run out of room on the shelf but my son doesn't want to take any ...

College doesn't need to be free for everyone, it needs to be less expensive. It's time to abandon the idea that everyone should go to college. This idea, that we need to abandon the idea of everybody going to college, is something that needs to be abandoned. There's never been an idea that everybod...

Lots of ideas here about how to spend other people's money. Bootlicker alert Clever. I'm at a loss for words. That such an eloquent turn of phrase should be constructed on my behalf... I don't care how much owners make or don't make. They've been crying poverty for years. Nobody really believes it....

Re: The Business of Baseball (AKA never side with management)

Lots of ideas here about how to spend other people's money. Any change that results in higher pay for the players will result in higher prices for tickets, parking etc. The owners are not going to make less money. They just aren't. Debate all you want how much that sucks but that's how it's always g...
