Re: Blackhawks Offseason

So it looks as though the Hawks will lose TVR and Kruger to the expansion draft- one drafted and the other traded. I'm still hoping that Vegas takes Kruger and trades him minus half his salary back to the Hawks for TVR and maybe a draft pick or 2. That would help the Hawks cap situation and allow th...

Re: Golf thread

This course is playing ridiculously easy right now, especially of a US Open course It's too short. It needs to be windy and the greens need to dry out to be really challenging. It's not short, it's just the greens like you mentioned. I don't think there's any forecast of a lot of wind to really get...

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel

My 8 YO son made me take him to see Pirates of the Caribbean again. Since he's the target audience, he loved it. I think I actually hated it less the second time. Actually hate is too strong. It's not really worth hating since hate requires more attention than this film deserves. I fully realize tha...

I would have guessed that Vitters was more like 37 than 27. That seems like such a really long time ago.

I assume you mean besides Lackey.

Lackey is a bad person? The guy eats one lousy child and all of a sudden he's a bad person.

His name kind of implies that he's a shady character. Like Rizzo in the movie Grease.

Re: Cubs trading Soler to KC for Wade Davis

Wade Davis has been everything we asked for, although it does concern me slightly that he couldn't go for a 3rd straight day after pitching only 1 time in a 15 day span from May 17 - June 1st. He did go 3 straight days earlier this year, although that time he only threw 23 combined pitches the firs...

Re: Send Schwarber Down!!

From my untrained eye he seems to be jumping at the ball or in other words not staying back long enough. I think staying in Iowa until after the All star break is what he needs. Plus he could catch more down there which is his preferred position and might rejuvenate him a little. Too good of a hitt...

Re: Athletes and "humbled/humbling"

My grandfather used to say that when someone "lucked out" that meant they had run out of luck/ were unlucky but for my generation it meant got lucky/ was fortunate.

Athletes misusing humbled is not new. That doesn't make it any less annoying.

Re: Stanley Cup Playoffs

Rock and a hard place for Hawks fans on this SCF. If Nashville wins, that's a division rival winning and gives their fans some bragging rights. If Pittsburgh wins, they probably overtake the Blackhawks as 'team of the era" (if they havent already). i think the blackhawks run would still be rem...

Problem: pitchers can't get anybody out
solution: send Schwarber to the minors

Seems logical.

Re: The Starting Pitching Trade Candidates

The Rays were hard to deal with even before Maddon. They likely always will be since they can't afford to pay very many star players so they pretty much have to get max value out of any trade they make.

Re: Cubs trading Soler to KC for Wade Davis

Normally I'd like to take joy in the early returns suggesting that we "won" a deal, but I really want to see Soler succeed. Just really like that dude and had high hopes for him. Soler is a guy that I'll always associate with the beginning of the Theo era. I can see where people have a so...

The XM Beatles channel is something of a fraud. I'm not really interested in obscure songs that influenced the Beatles. How about playing songs by the Beatles? Even the ones by Ringo. Am I correct in assuming that you're new SXM? Because that's been their MO with all of their "single artist/ba...
