Re: The Politics Thread

I'm quoting my wife, but she said she saw an article posted that said Mitch McConnell's granddaughter just recently married the Louisville AG that let the police officers walk yesterday. She found the info, but now thinks that info is deliberately being pulled down as quickly as it gets posted. Cur...

Re: Complain about your fantasy team that no one cares about here

This is a brag rather than a complaint, but... I scored 316 points in our PPR league this past week (season high and a very rare 300 point week) in our 12 team league with the typical 9 player roster. The reason I'm bragging is because I got a total of 5 points from my receivers. 2 QB start league?...

Re: Week 3: Chicago BEARS @ Atlanta Falcons

I wonder if they will let Riley Ridley suit up this week against his brother's team. Could maybe use another receiver to spell the other guys with these 9 TD's we are supposedly going to score against the Atl D.

Re: Week 3: Chicago BEARS @ Atlanta Falcons

I'm not as comfortable with Mitch as you are. But, I still don't like a lot of the play calling. Those two designed Trubisky running plays were WTF moments. The really slow developing gadget plays with Patterson don't work very well. He's powerful and fast enough to burst through a hole. Just run h...

Re: Week 2: NY Giants @ Chicago BEARS Home Opener

Blitzing with success certainly beefs up your tackles for loss and sack rates. Maybe I just liked Fangio's scheme better as it did seem to disrupt the opposing QB's rhythm and creating more turnovers. Detroit definitely has an explosive offense, even if they were playing without Golladay. Giants los...

Re: Week 2: NY Giants @ Chicago BEARS Home Opener

fwiw - the perception of Mitch's performance is probably a lot higher if Miller didn't blow the catches on two well thrown balls. The one on the sideline in the fourth quarter changed things a lot. If that drive is kept alive, we don't punt from the 40 yd line and they don't have the ball to march ...

Re: Week 2: NY Giants @ Chicago BEARS Home Opener

Just caught up with all the in game play discussion, and UMFan posted the exact same thing I was thinking. Are we really going to sit on this lead the entire second half? That is not the Andy Reid school of football thinking. Andy Reid likes to run up the score. He likes to go deep with big leads. H...

Re: Week 2: NY Giants @ Chicago BEARS Home Opener

Given the cap issues at the time, I was shocked they resigned Trevathan. Probably could have brought back both Nick Kwiatkoski and Pierre-Louis combo for less.

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

$4.2m is dirt cheap for his production. And the starting running back could have a lingering injury all year if they rush him back to soon. I'm in favor of bringing him in. A change of scenery just might be what the doctor ordered.

Re: Golf thread

Maybe I will feel different when I get out there, but the entire concept of “gimmes” bugs me. It takes 5 seconds to tap it in and pick it up. We actually gamble when we play, and anything inside the grip of the putter is a gimme. The biggest reason is to keep play moving, especially on a hot day. W...

Nobody cares alert: update on my learning to golf phase I’m going to the practice range a couple of times a week now, still having fun. I usually have one or two swing fixes I want to implement each time, and I have evolved from “idiot who looks like he has never held a club before” to “idiot who i...

It will depend on whether Seattle can get him signed to a new contract as to whether this trade was worth it, IMO.

Re: Small business owners thread

I just got an email from SBA for a loan approval of up to $150K. It's a 30 year loan and has a 3.5% interest rate and doesn't kick in for 12 months from the date of loan approval. Has anyone gotten this yet and are there some drawbacks that I need to be aware of if I go ahead and file for this loan...

Re: Small business owners thread

I finally got my stimulus check. I set up direct deposit late, and figured they would end up just mailing me a check, but my accountant told me to look up the status of my deposit (she learned that there were updates) and when I did, it said it would be direct deposited on the 6th. And sure enough, ...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

Schedule works out pretty well for the Bears, IMO. A late BYE week (11) will bode well if they are a contending team. Helping them contend is a schedule that starts with 6 straight losing teams from 2019 and the non-playoff Rams thru 7 weeks. Granted, one of those teams is the revamped Bucs, but th...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

So Ginn, Wims, and Ridley likely competing for 2 spots, though you could keep 7 WR if the young guys force the issue, or if they're just fully treating Patterson as RB/returner. I wondered if this is part of the strategy at RB, not that I really want it to be. Its an interesting dilemma. I'm not su...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

Andy Dalton is available I'd prefer Dalton and Foles competing in training camp over Trubisky, but I doubt that happens. I am interested in Kenny Stills for that burner WR. I'd go back in time, keep that 4th and sign Dalton now. Kind of would like to bring in a UDFA QB as an alternative to a PS QB ...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

You're not totally wrong. Obviously the skills at S gave greatly shifted already with offenses. You're still looking at differences in how the position is played, that you aren't gonna literally just drop in a CB without prior development at S (and this year will likely suck to try and do a crash c...
