Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel
I didn’t think any of these movies could top Batman v Superman, the I saw Suicide Squad. Then I didn’t think anything would ever top Suicide Squad. Then I saw Birds of Prey. Then I thought, there is no way they can make anything worse. Then they made WW84.

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel
Well they did a horsefeathers job of that too. Pascal’s character should have been a Miami drug kingpin or a Carl Icahn corporate raider shuttering manufacturing and moving it off shore. There is so much they missed. They could have had a great rock and roll soundtrack. Gadot didn’t even have 1980s...

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel
They didn’t do any of that well either. If it went for camp and nostalgia, it missed by 3 miles. If you want to see the 80s done right watch the first season of Stranger Things. If anything, I thought this movie was going after the sensibilities of the 80's. If you're looking to pay homage to and f...

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel
I had dirt low expectations for WW1984 , but ended up really liking it? I grew up on the Richard Donner Superman movies on VHS, this entire movie felt like one of those but made in 2020. The story is more or less cheery, like you're never truly worried about Our Heroes, but underneath is loaded wit...

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel
I didn’t watch the Clooney movie but my wife did. I walked in as it went to credits and she went “what?!? That’s it?” It’s enough for me to not waste the time. WW84 - had to look online to find out Wiig’s character had a name - cheetah. Story very contrived. Chris Pine is in the movie, but not real...

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel
You know what isn't a good movie? The Midnight Sky. George Clooney continues to make movies that look great on paper and in the trailer but fail miserably in their execution. Such a downer movie with such a weak ass twist. It's 2 hours of George Clooney felating his philanthropic ego by yelling at ...

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel
We did a Godfather marathon yesterday for Christmas. Watched 1 & 2. I had seen 1 in bits and pieces throughout the years but never from start to finish. Had never seen 2. They are good movies. You know what isn't a good movie? The Midnight Sky. George Clooney continues to make movies that look ...

Re: The Politics Thread
I have to believe that many GOP congresspeople are x-ing off the days on the calendar until he's out of office. The monster is now in their house tearing up their stuff and burning down their mansions. What a farce. Eh; I think this isn't too bad for them: In the video posted to Twitter, Trump said...

Trump's personal banker and her assistant at Deutsches Bank have resigned. No details have been given. The conspiracy theorist inside me says this is a harbinger of bad news for Trump that the general might not know yet, but that Trump does. I guess we'll find out if and when he's kicked out of offi...

Great postmortem of the Four Seasons Landscaping press conference.
