Re: Politics & Current Events
This should be a rant but I don't have time. I really do wish "the south" would secede and the north would let them. It's time to give all these [expletive] the country they deserve. you gonna go with? I really hate living in Alabama. Unless one lives in a state like this it is impossible...

Why? The best candidate in his view would be another Sotomayor. He could have three years left on his term and he won't get another Sotomayor confirmed in a Republican senate. In modern politics, compromise justices are the norm when the President and Senate are on opposite sides. The question is w...

It doesn't matter that the nominee may be a moderate. They will try to kill the nomination as a dick measure win. He should nominate the person who he thinks is best suited for the position. I hope he thinks this guy is that person. I'd hate to see Obama try to do a compromise for the sake of tryin...

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel
If they want to continue the franchise, and why wouldn't they, I do think they need to set up a successor, which clearly Shia was not. I know there was rumors of a reboot with Chris Pratt, but that's probably a franchise too many for him. I don't want a reboot, but it would be cool if an aged India...

Re: Sports Media Thread
Honest question. Serena Williams gets hardly any attention from the media relative to her dominance in her sport. Is that because nobody cares about tennis or because nobody cares about women's sports in general or something else? If she were a petit blond she'd be all over the place. She just not ...

No, but it wants to be in the worst way. Outside of the northwest Indiana, the entire state wants to be Kentucky.

Rubio's numbers seemingly have shrunk in Florida over the last week; hopefully this is the last we ever see of him on this stage. He's all but waved the white flag anyway, with his indirect endorsement of Kasich in Ohio. On that note, I really am starting to worry about a brokered convention nomina...

I never heard the term bernie bros before your post and I googled it. Oh my! It's a toxic mix of hipsters and metrosexuals. Very off putting.

Re: Politics & Current Events
It's not "Trump vs. populist;: it's "populist vs. populist." And Trump is a far for immediate, pandering populist. He preys on much stronger and primal emotions and responses. Basically when you end up with two populists the good money is one the one that can get the most people the ...

Some reporter from Breitbart, of all places, was manhandled by one of Trump's henchmen last week to the extent she had finger shaped bruises on her arms. When Breitbart took Trump's side (they said it never happened) she and her boss quit. When the conservative media echo chamber is having problems ...
