Re: Time to worry about Heyward yet?

Yeah, that near decade in age difference between Heyward and Zobrist means alot. I mean, I still wouldn't have expected so much dong requests from Zobrist at 26, either. Face it, Heyward isn't a big-time donger. But I've said enough on this now. I have been the dong spoiler too much this afternoon....

Gawd I can't wait for him to dong so the requests to see a dong will be relaxed.

Re: Time to worry about Heyward yet?

Well that's not fun. I mean, people are bringing it up because even if he only hits 15 or less, we're all fans of dongs and he is still sans dong at this moment, both for the season and as a Cub. We're rooting for him to bust that dong out. But hey, what do we know? We're just a bunch of bitches, I...

Re: Time to worry about Heyward yet?

Dude has shown the ability to dong prodigiously; it's not an unreasonable expectation. I mean, when he's been pretty consistent in the dong department for most of his career except for that one year (which wasn't really that prodigious), I think it might be a bit much to say that it's not an unreas...

Re: Time to worry about Heyward yet?

From the moment he signed in December I anticipated this thread being made. There is a good chance J-Hey is never going to look great on offense. His value, again, is that he does everything really solid when it comes to baseball. Doing a bunch of really good things adds up to a great player. Fieldi...

Re: Schwarber carted off field

i'm no doctor, but i'm not sure why the swelling would need to go down for an mri. for surgery, yes, that would make sense. Agreed. And that often takes days and days. No way they need to wait for it to go down to know it's an ACL tear. If they did it would sometimes take weeks for teams to diagonos...

If he was out for the year would they have immediately placed him on the 60-day DL or no? Which maybe they have for all I know.

Still trying to be optimistic. I was thinking about how Theo said he could never top that Dexter moment.

But maybe he can when Schwarbs is in the lineup at catcher tonight?

Re: Schwarber carted off field

the part about this that feels weird is that i'm not really worried about how the severity of this injury impacts the ultimate fate of this team (though we'd miss having that type of lefty bat a bit). I'm just worried about not getting to watch schwarber and having to wonder if it'd be more awesome...

https://twitter.com/dan_bernstein/status/702965019642712066 This tweet makes my brain hurt. Explain it to me. It isn't anything you didn't already know, apart from the fact that Fowler has never started anywhere apart from CF, and Montero has at least one start in both LF and RF during his career, ...

Re: Why is Carrie Muskat tweeting that fowler is back to the Cubs on a 1 year deal?

So assuming that the 5 million dollar buyout is triggered no matter which side declines the option, was that a way to basically have an agreement that he wouldn't be given a qualifying offer, as it would cost the Cubs more than $20 million to bring him back for one season? Or am I off? No. It's $8 ...

Re: Why is Carrie Muskat tweeting that fowler is back to the Cubs on a 1 year deal?

What I love most is that it doesn't even need to be said that Heyward is still the team's CF. I disagree. The Cubs paid a premium for Heywards defense, they should play him where he's had the most success. RF at Wrigley is very tricky, too. I hope he plays a majority of his time there. Scwarbs and ...

The Orioles rumor makes a ton of sense, and I think that's where the betting money has to be right now. It's crazy how far the Fowler market has fallen. We had a lot of people on here in June, when he was awful, still willing to give him $15 per for four years. Now, he can't even get $20 for two. Are we sure it's fallen over folks were getting overexcited about a player playing well on the first dece...
