Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 6-15-18

That is game changing speed.

Carrera's doing really well. I hope someome gets some video of him this summer.

Jonathan Soto seems interesting. LHH catcher with enough speed to try and fail stretching a double into a triple. He's 2-2 so far

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 6-15-18

Kelli's already singled and stolen a base, just took third on a flyout...Carrera picked up a K in his first IP, also made an error. 7 teenagers in the lineup for Eugene

Re: 2018 Actual MLB Draft Day(s) Thread

He has less fastball than all of them, and doesn't even flash a plus secondary like each of those 3 you listed. Those are the big reasons why he was knocked around all year at the college level. It's not always a great thing to throw strikes when your stuff is as mediocre as Richan's. From what I s...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 6-15-18

Luis Verdugo belted two triples, scored twice, and collected an RBI, Richard Nunez drilled an RBI double and walked twice, and Erling Moreno, Riger Fernandez, and Chi-Feng Lee combined (albeit pitching for opposite squads) to hurl 6.2 IP of two-hit shutout ball, in a six-inning AZL mini-camp intras...

Kelli is listed as a switch hitter on Eugene's website. It would be nice for that to be legit.

Re: 2018 Actual MLB Draft Day(s) Thread

In a world where we gave guys like Stinnet, Skulina, and Pierce Johnson the time of day for a few minutes, what's so bad about Richan? He's healthy, young, can hit 94, can locate it, healthy, can locate at least two other pitches, keeps the ball in the park, and missed bats this year. Plus he's not ...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 6-14-18

Rucker also gave up his 8th HR this season (65 IP). That's bad. He's also on pace to throw 130+ innings this year. That's good. The HRs are why I don't love him as a straight SP prospect, at least for a good team, and more as a multi-inning reliever who can spot start.

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 6-14-18

Jorge Remon is throwing well for a DSL Cubs squad and doesn't turn 18 until next February. Here's what Badler wrote: The Cubs in July gave $180,000 to Jorge Remon, a 17-year-old righthander from Panama. Remon is a projectable 6-foot-2, 160 pounds with a lively fastball that has reached 91 mph. Remon...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 6-13-18

Amaya is 2/4 with a double and a K. Delvin Zinn is making his full season with South Bend at 3B. He's 2/4 with two Ks. Ricky Thomas with 4.2 IP, a BB, and 6 Ks as he continues a solid first full pro season.

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 6-12-18

First two pro HRs given up by Lange, who is already out of the game. He went 4.2 with 4 Ks and no walks. Pelicans getting beat by a pitcher I wanted to draft in 2016, Bernado Flores out of USC. Zack Short's having a weird season with big Iso numbers, tons of fly balls, lots of Ks, and a .212 BA. I'm...

Hot take: Wallner's the best college bat since Bryant. Dude is an animal - .343/.468/.637 in his 587 PAs across two seasons, enough athleticism to play CF in college at 6'5" 215+.

Re: 2018 Actual MLB Draft Day(s) Thread

Wait, is Hannemann getting lumped in with the same fail Wilson is? I don't get how Hannemann was a fail at all, let alone on the same tier as Wilson. The guy played baseball for one season between the ages of 18-22 and still got to the majors. In the baseball world that's nothing but a PD win, minor...

There are definitely parallels between Hannemann and Davis Is this really a bad thing? Hannemann missed reps for non-sports or injury reasons and still ended up collecting a ML paycheck. I don't see Hannemann not becoming a super duper mega star, or just a starter whatever standard you're holding h...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 6-8-18

Right now I see Ademan as the system's best shot at a 5 tool starter, which puts him right with Amaya for my top prospect. I <3 Amaya plenty but there's an urge to spread the love when the top prospect is probably a 19 YO catcher in A ball. I also just really like that Ademan's in a tougher spot hol...
