Re: Politics & Current Events

Wouldn't this reveal itself in lower level elections when the issue has no effect on the position? Maybe not, in that Republicans are the party of Pro-Life. Therefore, they vote Republican. Then doesn't that agree with my initial point on Jones's stance making no difference? I’m saying that as a Pr...

Re: Politics & Current Events

Doug Jones could run on a platform of outlawing Roe v Wade and it would make little difference. Abortion is an excuse to not have to vote for Dems. Man, I just completely disagree. The Gulf Coast has a ton of Catholics who will not budge on abortion rights. They’re voting for an issue, not against ...

Re: Politics & Current Events

Early exit polling shows 65% white voters and 30% black. Moore isn’t doing as well with R voters as Romney or McCain, for example, and Jones is doing better than Obama. Probably still not enough The one single issue voting block that is stronger than guns is the Pro Life group. Nothing else matters...

Or Rod Carew.

I listened to a podcast a year or so back about Carew and they discussed him as a hitting coach. He apparently become very bitter about the state of hitting in MLB and hating coaching in the K era.

No, it's the racism. They like that you can say this horsefeathers in the open now. They hated censoring themselves and now that a republican shows you don't have to censor yourself they are all in on the guy. Right, but these are the types who like doing and doing racist horsefeathers mostly becau...

It has been shown time and time again there is indeed a significant segment of his base that are in it for the trolling. That's not saying that they're not politically/ideologically similar; few people are siding with this goon in a personal political vacuum outside of some genuine sociopaths. But ...

I don't think so. That shirt is a "piss off the libs" t-shirt. There is a section of the "base" that gets kicks from doing whatever they think will make normal people upset. You don't think so....and then proceed to agree with what I just said? They don't give a horsefeathers ab...

More and more, I think Trump’s base is less about racism or nationalism but mostly morons who don’t know dick about politics or policy and just enamored with pop culture and celebrity.

Re: Politics & Current Events

No, I just can’t agree with that premise. Poor people absolutely see themselves as poor. I grew up in a very poor family in the rural South. They are easily manipulated because being given someone to blame is an easier concept to grasp than complex tax structures, poor public education, etc. Republ...

Speaking of poor people, this string to tweets beautifully describe what many of us here have been saying for a long time: poor white people don't see themselves as poor, and that clouds their thinking when voting. Poverty is such a stigma in our culture (a stigma that blames the poor for not worki...

I seem to recall Cardinal fans saying they'd rather have Diaz than Russell. That makes me laugh. Grichuk > Bryant Grichuk is also definitely getting moved this offseason. These sanctions are strange. Usually a 2 year bowl ban carries with it far more scholarships than just 13. Ole Miss has already self-imposed a 1 year ban and has already self imposed 11 scholarship losses over the past 3 seasons. Thus, after this 2018 recruiting class in February (where they will i...
