Re: The Science Thread

Can’t wait for a new Deep Space Field picture with the jwst. The Hubble shot has been my phone and desktop background for years and years. It’s the most important photo ever taken IMO. The jwst version will be even cooler.

Those poor JPL guys always look like they’re about to have a stroke during the landing sequence of these. I can’t imagine the pressure and the nerves involved.

Despite being an Uber space dork, I only just today realized that NASA is planning to land people back on the moon by 2024. They already have the astronaut candidates and everything. They’re sending a crew to orbit the moon and do a sort of Apollo 8 type mission in 2022. As far as Mars goes, Musk is...

So, The Avengers . That was a lot. Overall, I didn't hate it, but that third act was "Michael Bay Transformers Franchise" as all get out. Sure, the good guys won, but we'll just sorta hand wave away the complete destruction of Manhattan and likely tens of thousands of dead civilians. Not ...

Criminal assault charges were likely never going to stick against those guys due to issues with intent, etc. However, I suspect the victim will certainly be successful in a Civil Rights case against the police department.

Was looking through some MVP seasons this morning and came across Willie Stargell in 1979. He won the NL MVP with a 2.5 WAR. Yeesh.

Look at Stargell compared to Hernandez, Schmidt, and Winfield.

Can't stomach the sight of the creature they helped create &/or coddled along the way. https://twitter.com/kylegriffin1/status/1359257012601716743 Apples to oranges but it reminds me of that photo of German POW’s being shown video of the concentration camps. https://i.redd.it/6lgok46sjb501.jpg

I had taken a break for about a year. I just picked up the New Frontier Pass a couple weeks ago. So I haven't had much experience with the various secret societies and heroes and whatnot. They all seem stupidly overpowered -- which is fine for the heroes, but I think I'll probably leave the societi...

Anyone checked out Black Mirror: Bandersnatch yet on Netflix. It's an interactive movie. It's basically an RPG. It gives you the option to use your remote to pick what you want the characters to do. It was fun. Did you get to all the alternate endings? A few of them made me lol. Yes absolutely. Lov...

Tree won that thread with this gem:

if you're playing the "what is more likely" game, and your answer is "a guy died and then he came back to life," you're doing it wrong.
