Gonna be controversial if they let him back in this game. He was clearly concussed.

Re: NFL perpetual 2020 regular and postseason non Bears thread

What a terrible call. That should be targeting, 1st and goal at the 1 yard line for Cleveland. If they review a play, EVERYTHING should be deemed reviewable during that specific review. Makes too much sense I guess I also hate that touchback rule. Why should the other team just be given the ball? J...

KC is hardly an unstoppable force this year. 9 of their 14 wins were within one score and 6 within a FG.

Re: The Politics Thread

Yes, that's the point; it never should have been held up as this amazing, nigh-set in stone system that can just ride everything out. We don't need to apply the BS of American Exceptionalism anywhere, and especially not here. My question is how much of this belief in "American Exceptionalism&q...

Re: The Politics Thread

It's almost as if a setup hinged on the idea that educated, property-owning white dudes would be the ones doing most of the rulin-*AHEM*, I mean, "governing" and voting, and that the whole thing would be propped up by a nebulous expectations of a gentleman's-agreement honor system, ISN'T ...

Re: The Politics Thread

So basically, if Democrats can hold their caucus and Republicans want to wait until Trump's out of office, we can get this done without a single one of them. The ban vote would only take place if the impeachment resulted in conviction. They need 17 (i think) republicans to get to there. So they'd h...

Re: The Politics Thread

What is considered "political office" per the Impeachment rules? If Don Jr or Ivanka are president, could Trump be a paid advisor? Work in the Cabinet? “disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States.” Translating that from legalese into En...

Re: The Politics Thread

Breaking from Trump in a symbolic and effective (no federal office) manner is the best thing for McConnell' GOP. I am completely unsurprised that the fascist uprising turned to a violent coup attempt. I am mostly relieved it ended up being so incompetent Thankfully most Americans these days are just loud mouthed cowards who talk a lot of isht but won’t dare put their money where their mouth is. I make a joke that is mostly true, the second question people ask you is what church do you go to. The first is, who do you root for. The answer to the second question is more important than the first. You pretty much nailed the Deep South in a single observation. Have never thought about it in tho...

If McConnell says he will vote to convict, I feel at least somewhat confident it will happen If that’s true, then ya it might work.
