Re: Jean Segura and stuff to D'Backs for Aaron Hill and stuff

No, the point is after they'd already punted their 1st, its much easier to punt your 2nd. Signing Kendrick(or anyone attached to a pick) is much more palatable when your 1st is already gone.

Maybe not in THEIR case, since they've squandered so many assets already though.

Re: Jean Segura and stuff to D'Backs for Aaron Hill and stuff

I think I saw the D-Backs are paying 6.5 of Hill's deal. At any rate, according to Law, they've now traded their 1st rounder from 2015, their 1st and 4th from 2014, and their 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounders from 2013. So with Segura's 2.6 + the 6.5 they are sending, and losing Hill's 12, they saved about...

Re: The pie thread: when 3.0 just isn't enough, get some pi

I've never eaten a Chicago style hot dog, mainly due to not liking tomatoes(and pickles aren't my favorite thing either).....But because of all the stuff on them, is one enough for a meal? Or do you still get two?

Delicious, that's what. All of the savory pies; cottage, corned beef, chicken pot...

I think its a hot dog.

At any rate, I horsefeathering love them. And yeah, those others too. I'd take them over pizza too.

Re: The pie thread: when 3.0 just isn't enough, get some pi

it was a joke, dummy and nomenclature aside, very few people would consider that a pie in the vein that's being discussed here, you big boob otherwise everyone here would have answered pizza, because there is no other answer if pizza qualifies Based just off of "pie" being in the name or ...

Re: Jean Segura and stuff to D'Backs for Aaron Hill and stuff

They don't have an awful team.(and you're right, that INF looks pretty decent) Its that they could do so much more. I can't stand Cameron, but his tweet made a lot of sense. They didn't want to give up their 2nd rounder in order to sign Kendrick, but they'll give up a guy(Diaz) that's probably worth...

Re: Great Coghlan Podcast Interview

I've been a fan of signing Austin Jackson and trading Coghlan for pitching this offseason; but after listening to that I'm hoping to see him stick around with us for a long time. He's really bought into how valuable stats can be for a player, and I want that around the rest of our young guys. It go...

Re: Bathroom Nightmares

I worked at Busch Gardens after my freshman year of college one summer as a sweeper. We literally just walked around looking at girls all day, so it was kind of cool and after work, we could hang out and ride rides. Fun job for the summer honestly. Except for one day. I was taking a dump myself and ...

http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2009/3/17/795946/optimizing-your-lineup-by This is probably the closest to how Maddon thinks about it I don't really care about lineup construction either, as long as the better hitters are hitting early, but I don't think I've ever heard that the 3rd spot is less i...

I trust David's description, but because it was Coghlan, I almost didn't listen. But damn, it really was fantastic. Didn't expect that kind of insight out of him.

Re: Dodgers and Kendrick "Making Progress on Re-Signing"

Gets 2/20 after turning down 1/15.8......Geez. That's definitely one part of the CBA that'll get changed somehow. Personally, I wish they'd just go back to exactly the way it was, as far as type A and type B guys. Give teams losing them picks, don't penalize teams for signing them and do away with d...

I think some of Gato's trades are realistic. I don't think Cole or Meyer would be on the table, but who knows? They've got issues and aren't THAT young anymore. But the rest look pretty realistic. Its Coghlan. And just one year of him at that. I wouldn't expect too much of a return. I've seen things...

Re: Dickerson to Rays-McGee to Rockies

I get what Gato is saying, but if I'm Colorado, I'd flip him NOW, due to injury concerns and just the possibility he could struggle. If he does pitch well though, I doubt there's much of a difference, if any, as to the value they'd get at the deadline versus now.
